Recap: I walk out of Professor Dumbledore's office and to the broom cupboard near the great hall, unsure about what I'm going to find there.

*****Addie's POV*****

When I get the the broom cupboard I hear muffled sobs. I slowly open the door and look in to see none other than Melissa Lestrange. She is the last person that I'd expect to find crying.

"Melissa?" I ask slowly. She lifts her head slowly and looks at me. Only then do I realize how upset she is. Her eyes are red and swollen and her cheeks are crusty with tear stains. "Oh my gosh, Melissa! What's wrong?"

She sobs again and I immediately run to her side and hug er close. I don't care that she was being really mean to me this morning, I don't care that her parents are Death Eaters. I don't care that she might be the worst person in the world, all I care about is making Melissa happy again, or at least stop her from crying.

"I have to tell you something," she says through sobs. "Something important, but I don't know how to tell you without dying." She starts sobbing again and fresh tears stream down her face.

"Shh...shh...It's okay. Don't cry. You'll be okay." I try to reassure her. Then I don't understand why she's crying in the first place. "Why don't you start by telling me why you're crying. That always helps me."

She doesn't talk for a minute then, "I heard you after dinner," she bursts out. "I heard what you said about me to Jess and Avery. I heard the whole thing."

"Oh," I say, unsure about what else to say. "And you're upset about that?"

"No. I just don't understand why you said that about me. I have been horrible to you, and you're still defending me. Why? Why would you do that?"

I don't really know how to answer, so I just say, "Because I know deep down that you are a loving kind, considerate person. You have a huge heart, just you're blinded by what you're being forced to do. You need to step up for what you think is right. You need to be yourself, not be what other people want you to be. Does that make any sense?"

She nods. "That's why I'm upset. My mum always wants me to be more like her."

"Well, do you want to be like her?"

"No! She's cruel and vial, to anyone except pure bloods who support Voldemort." The fact that she said Voldemort's name surprises me. Most people are scared of his name. "That's another thing," she bursts out. "I don't call Voldemort the Dark Lord like my mother, it's just Voldemort for me."

"Well, if that's what you think is right, then your mum should support you, not put you down."

"But she doesn't she thinks I'm a disgrace to the name of witch."

"Don't believe her Melissa! Believe what you think is right!"

"Thanks Addie. You really know how to make me feel better." I smile. "Okay, Now I have to tell you something important, but I don't know how to do it without dying."

"What do you mean, 'without dying'?"

"My mum told me about this year at Hogwarts, she made me swear not to tell anyone by making me agree to an Unbreakable Vow. And I did it. I didn't want to refuse because I thought she would kill me if I didn't do it because I knew about the plan, but I didn't know what I was getting myself into."

I've heard about an Unbreakable Vow. Obviously you can break them, and if you do, then you die.

"Well, how about you tell me what you know that you didn't have to swear not to tell...if that makes any sense.
