I don't know what was happening at the time of my death. Whenever I think about it, I just see a mysterious figure. I'm Catherine, by the way. I have black hair as dark as night. Just so you know, dying is not all that bad. At least you'll get away from the worries you had when you were alive!

When I was on the ground, lifeless, with blood all around me, hours, even days could have passed. But, in this world, I am alive. But things are different. I don't eat.

Or breathe. But I do grow. Older and taller.

I sleep at day and I'm awake at night. We do have to go to school here as well. Every person at this school is dead. I remember, I think it was when I was in Year Five (fourth grade), my best friend, Ryan died.

I cried for days. But, luckily, I'm dead now. So that means I can see him everyday at school! I'm remembering my first day at this school. I had breakfast (I know that I said that I don't eat anymore, but I didn't know this then) when you all had dinner. I didn't know what to wear. I decided to wear a uniform: black blazer, white shirt, V-neck jumper and (to make it look really cute) a red bow.

I was surprised to find out when I stepped into the school that everyone else was wearing a uniform too, but they were all in different colors. I saw red, blue, blue, green... just colors everywhere.

I didn't know where to go to, though. Suddenly, a bell rang. Then everyone lined up and entered a hall.

It was an assembly. I didn't know where to sit - until I found a hand waving frantically and a smiling face yelling my name.

My whole face lit up with joy.

It was Ryan! He was screaming ''Cat! Cat!''.

I went to sit next to him. His uniform was navy blue. My eyes were red and puffy as I was crying. The reason for this is that I wasn't used to dying and was scared. Ryan reached out and held my hand to comfort me. I squeezed his hand gratefully.
