Nightfall came and I had spent my entire day sitting with the red head and boy, named Claire and Zach apparently, learning.

Learning was certainly ironic after they told me I was homeschooled. So here's what I learned:

My name is Jess Grady. I just turned 16 years old. My parents are dead. Owen (the guy they're looking for) is my brother. He used to be in a Navy then he worked at a dinosaur theme park. That took about two hours to explain.

This old man (who's dead now) created the park. He found dinosaurs DNA in dead mesquites that were preserved in some Amber stone. About 20 years ago, they failed to open it and now there is Jurassic World.

Claire used to work there as well and park manager or something. Owen was a raptor trainer. I lived there with him on the island. They created a generic hybrid, which is basically a dinosaur made from scratch, and it killed a lot. That's when I met Zach, and his brother Gray who I haven't met. They are Claire's nephews. Now we live near Zach and his family, Claire is dating Owen, I live here and I've been receiving weird phone calls about a new park.

Someone broke it, made me loose my memory, and Owen left. They seem upset about it, but I don't know what to think.

"Jess." A voice brought me back.

"Yeah?" I asked Claire.

"I made you pasta." She placed a dark blue bowl in front of me with spaghetti inside.

"Thanks." I said while twirling a fork. Someone jumped up beside me on the island. Zach.

"How are you?" He asked. Claire sighed.

"Zach, she still doesn't remember." She reminded him.

"I'm just making conversation." He defended. She cautiously walked off.

"Jess," I looked up. "I have to call my sister, Zach's mom, to check in. Will you be okay?" I nodded. She smiled slightly and ran off.

Zach didn't move, however, and he remained silent.

"So, what's our relationship?" I asked, bluntly. "You're Claire's nephew, she's Owen's girlfriend, and he's my brother. So, what about us? Are we friends, a thing, enemies, strangers...?"

He tried to laugh, but I think my question hurt him. I hated that I was doing that, but I hated it more that I couldn't remember anything about myself.

"We're best friends." He smiled and took out his phone. I leaned over to see what he was showing me. It was a picture of us, talking in a place full of people. His hair was messed up, so was mine. My leg was wrapped tightly, and our clothes were torn. "My mom took this picture the day she picked us up from Isla... Never mind. But this was after the dinosaur thing."

"How are we alive?" I asked, interested.

"You pushed us off a cliff, for one thing." I hummed at his answer. Then he scrolled to another picture. It was us again. In this kitchen unpacking boxes. "This was the day you moved in. Claire made us come over and help." The next picture was us, yet again. We were sitting outside in a backyard. A barbecue was happening. We were sitting in beach chairs, soaking wet. "Owen started a water balloon fight that day." And the next picture was us eating cake. "This was on your birthday. We threw you a surprise party."

"It seems we're pretty close" I commented, amazed by these photos.

"For sure." He said. I stared at him as he stared at the photos. This kid clearly cared about Jess, or me, and I guess I do too?
