Epilogue: Thank you

One month later

"Jess! Let's go!" Owen's voice rang through the house. He hated being late. It's not that I wanted to be late, I just took a lot longer getting ready.

"Chill! I'm coming!" I shouted back while slipping my sandals on.

I walked down the hallway to the front door where Owen was leaning against.

"Really?" He asked me.

"I took 10 extra minutes." I informed my brother. He rolled his eyes and opened the door. Before walking out, I took my keys off the hook and ran out. "I'm driving!" I heard Owen groaned from behind.

"Why can't we just take my bike?" He complained.

"Because my car is efficient and I can drive." I said getting in the drivers seat. He sighed and got in the passenger.

"Claire made it very clear to be there on time. What if it messes up everything?" He asked me.

"Owen," I sighed. "First, if she's mad, tell your girlfriend I took forever. Second, I know for a fact that the guest of honor won't be on time either." Owen relaxed himself. I laughed and pulled out of our driveway.

The drive to the house was short. Maybe a minute tops. They're were already a lot of people here, a lot of people I probably didn't know again.

I was about to knock, but before I could, Owen opened the door and let ourselves in. Everyone in the room jumped up and shouts, "Surprise!" And then they got bored when they saw us.

"It's not him." I informed everyone. Claire emerged.

"Okay. Everyone back in your places. He should be here soon! And Owen can you turn that light off?" She ordered, quite politely. I ran over to the small table on the wall near the door, and hide on the backside.

Less than a minute later, the door was opening. I vaguely saw Gray turn on the light switch, smirking. When the lights lit up the room, we all leaped to our feet, and shouted "Surprise!"

Zach jumped back, not expecting such a welcome. Then smiles. His mom comes up to him and tells him "Happy Birthday". Then Claire.

Before anyone else could, I ran up to Zach and tackled him in a hug. "Happy Birthday!" I exclaimed. He set me down.

"Thanks." Zach said still smiling. "How long has Claire been planning this?" He asked looking around at all his friends.

"About two weeks. It's a good thing your grounding ended just in time." I winked.

"When you lie and sneak off to an island with your amesiac friend to rescue her brother from dinosaurs, you're parents don't take it lightly." He defended. I laughed.

"Happy Birthday, Man." I heard my brothers voice say, and once he entered view, him and Zach do that weird "bro" greet thing.

"Okay, I'll let you talk to your friends" I told Zach, and stepped to the side to find Gray.
I found him over in the kitchen wrapping a box. It was Zach's present in blue wrapping paper and yellow ribbon.

"Hey, dude." I greeted. He looked up from wrapping to see me and smile. "What did you get him?"

"A new pair of headphones." He smiled, proud of his gift. It's perfect actually.

"Nice." I complimented as Gray tapped the sides.

"How about you?" He asked me.

"It's a secret." I told Gray, rocking on my heals. He gave me a look and smacked a bow on top of the box, finishing the look.
