Alan's P.O.V

Why did this have to happen? Ashlen is the sweetest person I know. She'd never hurt anyone, and if she did, it was for good reason. I never knew that I'd be here, beside her while she was dying. 'Snap out of it Alan. She's still alive. You need to call everyone. That'll keep this all off your mind.' My thoughts were right. I needed to keep my mind preoccupied while Ashlen is in surgery.

First I dialed up the nurse from the school. Ms. Sharron I think her name is? She answered on the third ring.
Ms. S: Hello, this is Sharron speaking.
Me: Hi, Ms. Sharron. I'm Ashlen's friend Alan. She got into an accident today, and she wanted me to call you. She said you were like a mother figure and that she wanted you here. Quite frankly, I need as many people as I can get.
We stayed on the phone for a few more minutes. She agreed that she'd come as soon as she could get a babysitter for her baby boy.

Next on the list was the boys, besides Austin because I'm still debating on if he even deserves to know. I called them all up and they all agreed to meet somewhere and ride up here. Although I should be close to every one in the band, I am closest to Austin. Which is probably why everyone thinks we are "dating", but I swear to you we aren't.

After calling the guys, I called my parents because Ashlen has always said that they were like parents to her. Me and my parents stayed on the phone for about 15 minutes and then we got off the phone.

I flipped through my contact list to see if there were any others I needed to call, before making the decision on if I wanted to call Austin. I saw no one, so I decided to go ahead and call Austin. Why am I even doing this? That shit head is the reason Ashlen is even in this mess. 'Focus dude. Get your shit together. You gotta be strong for Ashlen, no matter how hard it is.' My thoughts were right once again.

I dialed Austin's number and it rang three times, then he answered.
Austin: Hey, man. What's up?
Should I tell him? Does he even deserve to know? Of course he does. Even if Ashlen says she doesn't want him here, I know she does.
Me: Hey, um, there's no easy way to put this..
Austin: What? Hey, man, are you okay? Talk to me.
Me: I'm fine. It's Ashlen, man.
Austin: WHAT'S GOING ON?! IS SHE OKAY?!
Me: Austin, some man attacked her and started beating her. I don't know who the man was, but she did. She was terrified.
I heard Austin gasp and say something under his breath, but I didn't pay it much mind.
Me: Austin, man, she's in the hospital. I've called Ms. Sharron, the guys, and my parents. I knew she'd want you here.
Austin: Yeah. I-I'll be there s-soon. We hung up after that.

About a hour and a half later, everyone was there. Austin was the last to show up with this girl. I'm assuming it's his girlfriend. How fucking dare him bring her here?! 'Cool it, Alan. He doesn't know any better. He doesn't know Ashlen is in love.' He walked over to me and gave me a hug. "I'm sorry I'm so late. This is Veronika, my girlfriend. Veronika, this is Alan." She waved a me and blushed a bit. I smiled politely then said, "Come sit down. The doctors said that it'd be a little while." They both nodded and we all sat down.
