Chpt. 1

-Asher's p.o.v.-

I shifted back slipping on my shorts walking back to Mathew and Tia's house ruffling my hair. I walked through the back door to hear a lot of voices trying to talk at once. There was an amazing smell in the air and I knew what it meant.

I turned around the corner and everyone stopped talking and looked at me. I stopped walking and looked at my brother, Tia's dad, luna and....

"Paige?" I asked knowing exactly who it was.

'Mate!' Ryan my wolf said excitedly. Paige is my new mate? Anger started to boil within me.

"Asher" she breathed out. I clenched my jaw tightly looking away.

"Asher you look tired, maybe you should get some sleep" my brother said worried.

"No thanks I'm good" I said bitterly.

"Asher-"

"I don't need you or anyone else telling me what to do all the time Matthew, so leave me alone" I said harshly. I turned to Paige with a hard expression on my face.

"What the hell are you doing back here?" I asked.

"Asher!" Matthew said sternly. I scuffed rolling my eyes.

"Whatever. I don't care anyway" I said and walked towards the front door.

"Asher!" My brother yelled after me. I slammed the door shut as I left. I turned and took off running, I shifted and ran faster.

-Paiges p.o.v.-

"Uh"

"Don't worry about my brother he's been, uh, not himself lately" Mathew said and I nodded.

"Can we settle this later I'm gonna go after Asher" Mathew spoke quietly to the Luna. She nodded and whispered something to Mathew and he ran out of the house after Asher.

"Um, Luna maybe I should leave" I said and gently placed her hand on my shoulder. I flinched in pain and moved away from her. She furrowed her eyebrows and I shook my head waving my hand, signaling I was fine.

"If your trying to tell me your fine it doesn't seem like it" she said and I let out a breath.

"I'm fine, just have a bad shoulder" I said and she gave me a look that said she didn't believe me but dropped the subject.

"I will show you to your house, and tomorrow you will get a job, understood?" She asked and I nodded. We walked outside and I looked around the place at the little village just for the pack.

"The place, its changed so much" I said and she sent me a smile.

"Mathew has been a great alpha in shaping this pack for the better" she said. I opened my mouth to say something but closed it and just shook my head changing my mind.

"No, what is it?" She asked and I stopped walking.

"Do, uh, does Dave and Melody Green still live in this pack?" I asked looking at her.

"Yes they do, that's their house. Why do you ask?" She asked.

"No reason" I said and she stopped walking and turned a different way.

"Uh, wait where are you going?" I asked following her.

"To the Greens house" she said and before I knew it we were standing in front of their door waiting for them to answer. I looked down and turned around.

"No" I whispered walking three steps when I heard the front door open. I just stopped walking.

"He-"

"Luna, what can we do for you?" I heard him say.

"Uh" she stutter out and things got quiet. Tears formed in my eyes and I slowly turned around.

"Daddy" I said as my voice cracked. He just looked at me shocked then called for my mother as he rushed at me.

"Paige!" He said wrapping me in his arms tightly. I started crying and felt a few tears on my shoulder from him.

"Mom" I said looking over his shoulder. She was already crying as she joined the hug.

"I thought we would never see you again" she said and we kept hugging for what felt like forever. We finally let go and Ljna walked over to us and she just stared at me.

"Oh my god, Paige Green? How did I not know it was you?" She asked and hugged me.

"I changed out there" I said hugging her back. She pulled back.

"I hope you remember me" she said and i smiled.

"Of course I do Luna or should I say Tia" I said and we laughed.

"Yea. So do you want to live with your parents or on your own?" She asked and I looked at my parents.

"Them" I said and she nodded.

"Understood" she said and took a few steps from me.

"Well, I better get back before my little ones realize I'm gone" she said and I nodded.

I walked up to the front door with my parents when I felt like I was being watched. I turned around and my eyes connected with Asher's. He was leaning against a street pole just looking at me. He leaned off the pole turned and walked away.

I casted my eyes downward and went inside.
