(Refresher: Asher in pic ↑)

-Asher's p.o.v.--3:49am-

I groaned as I laid in the dark listening to the rain splatter on the roof and windows. The wind outside whirled and sweaked, trees screamed against the wind.

Normally it would be peaceful but tonight it just seems painful. Images of seeing Paige again ran through my head. I stood there and watched how she acted when she saw her parents again. The look on her face when she was walking away frombthe house before her dad answered the door.

She was holding her shoulder and she was hunched, almost like she was in pain. She looked scared and confused.

I wanted to go to her but I couldn't bring myself to do it. When she looked at me before she went inside, her eyes showed sadness but her body showed something completely different.

One thing is certain, Paige is different.

I threw off my covers and sat on the edge of my bed, still in the dark, I ruffled my hair and stood up. I walled to the window and flipped the shades so I could see through them.

Lightening stuck across the sky in many different lines. It almost look beautiful.

I stared out into the lining of the trees to see some warrior wolves patrolling the area. That has to be miserable, running around in the pouring ran like that. I backed away from the window and went downstairs into my kitchen. I didn't bother turning on the lights, I actually find the darkness welcoming but only sometimes.

I opened my fridge grabbed the orange juice, opened it and drank from the carton.

I pulled the carton away from my lips my mouth full of the juice as I listened.

I swear I heard something outside.

I out the orange juice on the counter and went to my front door. I pulled back the curtain of the small window by the door and looked outside. Lightening struck again illuminating the streets.

Just then I saw someone walk by in the rain. I furrowed my eyebrows confused. Its 4 in the morning.

I unlocked my front door going outside in basketball shorts and nothing else. I was instantly drenched. I couldn't tell who it was because the rain was masking their scent.

"Hey!" I said loudly through the rain. They kept walking.

"Hey! What are you doing?!" I yelled and jogged over to them. I tapped them on the shoulder and they turned around.

"Paige?!" I asked and she looked dazed.

"What are you doing out here in the rain at 4 in the morning?!" I asked. She blinked a few times and looked down.

"Hey!" I said and she shrugged.

"Come on! Let's get you dried off!" I said and touched her shoulder. She flinched and moved away from me. I furrowed my eyebrows but shrugged it off.

We walked back to my house and I got her a towel and several blankets. I made her a cup of hot chocolate and we sat in my living room with a dim light on. She just looked down at her cup with her hands firmly wrapped around them.

"I-I'm sorry to, uh, I don't remember going outside" she said softly. I took in a deep breath and nodded once.

"Did I wake you?" She asked looking up into my eyes. I looked away and cleared my throat.

"No, I was already awake" I said and leaned back in my recliner.

"Oh" she said and I glanced at her. She was looking down again.

"You should probably get some sleep, I have a guest bedroom you can use tonight" I said standing up. She nooded slowly and stood up. We walked upstairs after I turned the light off and I showed her to the bedroom. I flicked the lights on and she sat on the bed.

"Uh, okay. Bye" I said closing the door.

"Asher" she said and I stopped what I was doing.

"Yes?" I asked.

"T-Thank you for this" she said and I nodded.

"Its very sweet" she softly added.

"Don't get used to it" I mumbled and closed her door. I went to my room and laid down staring at the ceiling.

I rolled my eyes, sighed and rolled over closing my eyes finally letting sleep take me over.
