We take a taxi to the basketball court, where Drew had left his car. As we are driving to his house, we get on the subject of family. "So, tell me about your family back in Indiana," Drew says in that amazing voice of his.

"Well, at home, it's just my Mom, my brother and I. Well, up until about a week before we came here. My brother left home just before we left."

"So, what about your Dad? I mean, if you don't mind me asking."

"No, it's okay," but, I still hesitate to answer. I sigh. "My Dad walked out on me and my Mom when I was three. I don't remember him very well. My Mom says that I was really close to him as a baby. She still has no idea why he left all of a sudden."

"Oh, that's really sad," he says, sympathetic. "Have you heard from him since?"

"No, but my Mom said that when I was ten, he sent about a thousand dollars to us. I don't know how he managed to get it to us. He didn't know our address or anything." I sit, silently, trying to answer this mystery with a thousand possibilites.

For the remaining five minutes of the drive, we just sit there in silence. Surprisingly, it isn't awkward, it's relaxing and comfortable. "Well, we're here!," Drew says as we pull into his driveway. His house is slightly smaller than mine, but it's still gorgeous. "C'mon, I want to show you something." He pulls me by the arm around the house to the back. There is a magnificent garden full of plants I have never seen in my life in colours I never thought possible. There is a path leading through the middle of this amazing garden (more like jungle!). Drew leads me along the path, allowing me justn enough time to admire the surrounding flora. Suddenly, my feet end up walking up white, concrete steps. I look up to see a small white platform raised about a metre from the ground. Around the railings are white benches. I go to sit on one of them, and Drew follows me. "Wow, Drew. Your house is amazing!," I whisper loudly to him. He chuckles and sneaks his hand into mine. Oh, god. I see what Kate means now...

I casually stand up and walk around the platform, looking at all the plants around it. He stands up and follows me around. I turn around to say something but suddenly, I am lost in his big, brown eyes. They are gazing down at me, looking from one of my eyes to the other. All of a sudden, he starts to lean closer to my face. Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! My first kiss... And, it's going to be from someone I've known for only a couple of days... Not even that! I start hyperventilating as his face slowly nears mine. My first kiss... Here it comes...
