I wake up from a restless night's sleep to my phone ringing. I pick it up just in time without even looking at the caller ID. "Hello?," I mumble, croakily.

"Uh, hi, Brandi. It's Drew."

I clear my throat before responding. "Uh... Hi. What's up?"

"Nothing much. I was just wondering if maybe... You wanted to go out today? Just me and you?"

My hands become clammy, but then, I think about what Mom was saying last night. Maybe she was right... "Uh, yeh. Sure. That sounds awesome."

I can hear the smile in his voice as he says, "Okay! I'll pick you up at eleven, then."

"See you then!," I say, gleefully, before hanging up.

Okay. First date with Drew... I think.

I look at the time on my phone. It's ten o'clock; that gives me one hour to get ready. I have no idea what he is planning, so I decide to stick with some high-waist black shorts and a loose, white top that hangs off one of my shoulders. I wear some black Converse shoes and some black and silver bangles. I loosely plait my hair on the side and put on some light make up before heading downstairs for some breakfast. I scoff down some jam on toast and scull my orange juice. I look at the time once more; eleven o'clock. I hear a knock at the door. Right on time. My Mom (who is on the phone again) winks at me, making me giggle.

I open the door to see Drew. He is wearing long, black jeans, a white shirt and a black hoodie.  We are sort of matching. "Hi, Drew!," I say as I wrap my arms around his shoulders. He tenses up at first, obviously shocked at my actions (similiar to me yesterday), but he soon hugs me back. "So, where are we going?," I ask as we jump into Drew's car. "It's a surprise, Miss Myer," he replies, grinning. I roll my eyes and click in my seatbelt. I keep begging for a clue as the drive goes on, but Drew is reluctant to say anything.

"Alright, here we are." I look around for some kind of clue as to what we might be doing. And then, I see a sign reading, 'Welcome to Iceworld, the best ice rink around!' I start to get really excited; I haven't been skating in years! But, I remember it being one of my favourite things to do. Drew, already at my door, opens it and pulls me out. He takes off his hoodie and puts it on me. "Thanks... But, I'll be fine. You can wear it," I say as I begin to pull it off. He stops me and smiles sweetly. I smile back, giving him a look that says, 'Are you sure?' He takes my hand and leads me through the doors, into the large, freezing cold rink.
