I played happily with Mr. Nomnom and my older brother played with Kermit.
"Kier, do you wanna pway with Everwest and Carman?" At the time, I couldn't talk well, however, I did better with people I know, than with strangers.
"They're busy, Rile." Kieran replied, his hair falling into his eyes.
"AWWW. " I said sadly. Tiny Sea came running over, throwing himself on my lap, and panted. "At least some people can play with me." I whispered to my dog.
"Mummy and daddy play with you, right?" Kieran asked, concerned about our parents rudeness to me. I shook my small head, sadly. They tell me that I need to work harder if I was to earn the privilege to play with them.
"They just don't wove me." I whispered, sniffing. "No one cawes." Then, I was engulfed into a hug. I smelled Kieran's smell of dirt and flowers, since he loved to garden. Him successfully planting a whole garden, and keeping it alive makes my parents proud. My drawings don't make them proud. Everything easily comes to Kieran. I have to work for it. I still love him for who he is, but his flaw is his 'flawless-ness'. I let the tears flow as Kieran kept me in his arms. My blown blob on my head was patted down, and my head was left on his chest.
"Hey!" Kieran said happily. That's my twin for you, always bringing joy. "I just thought of something."
"What?" I sniffed.
"I love you." He said, placing his chin on my head. "And Sea does, too. And your future husband will love you, too. And though they don't show it, mummy and daddy love you, too."
I giggle, my turquoise eyes gleaming. "That's a lot of twoos." Kieran poked me, happy his younger twin was smiling. I poked him back and the next thing we're doing is running, poking each other, and laughing.
"Oops!" Kieran yelled as he bumped into the bookcase with our toys. Things fell off on their side, and we didn't know the candle in our room fell either. I took the chance to poke him, and we were off playing, unaware of what's to happen next.

The wall in front of me set on fire and my heart jumped to my throat. I screamed, while Kieran ran to me and grabbed my hand.
Why? Why must bad things happen to us?
The fire was able to get to our next door room, and I freaked out. Even more that I was already. I heard something crack, and when I looked up, and wood fell, small bits on my throat, burning it. I used my free hand to pat it out, but it still hurt. And since I was small, it was painful. I heard mum scream and then it was Kieran. I turned to see a burn on my brother's arm not holding mine. I tugged on him hard, since I was unable to talk because of the fire's pain. I looked at me with pain in his eyes and then he said,
"We need to find mum and dad." Yeah. We did. We got out of our room quickly, but the fire was spreading faster. Each room we checked brought more pain and smoke up our noses. Once we figured out mum and dad weren't in the house, we ran to the exit. However, for me it took longer because Kieran was leaning on me, wheezing.
And my brother was very heavy since he put every pound on him on me.
"Come on, Kier." I whispered hoarsely to him, tears down my cheeks. I had a bad feeling that he wasn't gonna make it. "You can do wit!" I whisper-yelled at him, smiling and trying to be optimistic through the tears and sadness, just like he taught me.
He smiled sadly at my attempt, and we were so close to the burning door. "Remember." Kieran whispered. "I love you, as much as mum and dad." And he collapsed. Right in front of me. Mum and dad spotted me fall on the burning front porch, cradling his head.
I didn't say anything. But I thought of my last words to Kieran.
'I do, too.' I smiled at the word Kieran over used, and I looked up at our parents, smiling through the tears.

I woke to see the doctor, mum and dad talking. "Hello.." I said timidly.
"So, she- Oh. Kassandra's up." The doctor looked at me and smiled a fake smile. Mum and dad did the same, but mum had a genuine one.
"Honey, we're glad you're up." She said, her voice cracking a bit. Her face was wet and her blue eyes were glistening. It was clear she was crying. Mum came over and grabbed my small hand, and looked at the doctor.
"So, Kassandra, when in the fire, you had something fall, and scrape your neck, right?" The doctor asked. I nodded my head. "Well, luckily that thing didn't damage your throat too much. It will hurt when you talk sometimes, but it should heal. Later this year it should heal."
Yep. That's what happened. But, I refuse to talk. Even if I groan or something like that it sometimes hurts.
Maybe I can speak after fifteen years of silence.
But I doubt it.

I wake to see mum looking over me, a cup of peppermint tea in her hands. How I know? Dad got the whole family loving his British ways, like tea and calling 'soccer' football. I can tell tea by it's smell now, and bet there's honey in that tea.
"Last night you screamed, and I came to check on you. Tears were on your face, and you were curled into a ball. What's wrong?" She asked, handing the cup to me. I shook my head as I took a sip.
"Was it one of those dreams, again? You haven't had it since you were twelve." She sighed, thoughtfully.
"Maybe it's telling you can talk again." Mum thought. I shook my head at her idea. I don't talk because if I do, everyone expects to know what's up with you.
Every.
Little.
Thing.
Bothering.
You.
But, I'll just tell you this straight up.
The kids weren't alright.

A/N:
I'm so-so with this chapter. Like, it's short, 1247 words and I feel like I could do better.
I really do.
I was so shaky when I made this, but it wasn't really enough to make me cry. I know, I'm a savage. But, I don't cry when I hear a sad story. It's my feelings getting hurt by one person that didn't want me to be in the group photo, or by some ignorant idiots in the world, life and death, and what people would do to each other when that person doesn't know he's hurting humanity. The main reason I cry is when my feelings get hurt in the smallest of ways.
And when you do it likewise to your best friend. Fuck you sometimes! I still wuv you tho. Maybe. Idek
-Mia (I got into your account. I would evil laugh but you made me too sad.)
Yeh. That stuff.
But, now you know what the reason behind FOB's (Fall Out Boy) The Kids Aren't Alright. And that's Kieran up there. Being his happy self. You also imagine him with more turquoise eyes, ok?
Short A/N this time, hope you enjoy it, cause it's not often these days.
So, BAI!
