So how are you coping with that ghost life? Is it fun? Can you see me? Am I bothering you? I hope I am. And I hope you still love me. Sometimes, I find myself playing with your old toys, smiling, and remembering what you said to me. I smile everyday because of that. I put that mask over how I feel. I'm starting to have only half a mask on me, I could be crying, but people will only see the happy side.

I missed us. Carmen came back. And we're just missing the rest of the gang. Your happiness, my remarks, Carmen's insights, and Everest's constant nagging of safety and stupid shit like that. Now that I think about, Everest was right. Well, that makes everything more awkward. I feel like Miles is making us come together. Maybe we'll stay like this.

Dad's still an ass. Mum is warming up to me, and she's been there for me more than dad. I think she's trying to make up for lost time with me and on behalf of dad. Though, some things bother her. Like my eating habits. But, I will love her as she to me. Not so much dad. But, someone close to me told me the smartest thing ever.

'I love you. And Sea does, too. And your future husband will love you, too. And though they don't show it, mummy and daddy love you, too.'

As I finished the tea, I got up and went downstairs into the family room. I waved to my dad but stopped half way because he wasn't even looking at me, he was staring at the work shit all over the island. I rolled my eyes at him and went to the stove. Mum was standing in front of it, finishing up making breakfast. Otherwise known as pancakes, eggs, and bacon.

"Hi again, Kass." Mum said, sweetly to me. I hugged her, sneaked my hand around her shoulder, picked up a piece of bacon on the plate next to her. "Oh, you're just here for the bacon." Mum teased, swatting me with a small wash rag, so I'd get off her. I smirked at her, and bit my bacon. I went to the fridge and took out syrup, butter, and out of the freezer, Cookie Dough Ice Cream. I placed the items on the counter, and sat across from dad. He finally looked up.

"Morning, Kassandra." Dad said, looking right back down. WHAT? IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH MY ADORABLE ROBOT SHIRT AND SUPERHERO BUNNIES SHORTS? HM? CARE TO TELL US? Gosh. Adults these days. Mum came over and placed a plate in front of me. I eagerly took the knife and spoon, scooped ice cream on my pancakes, drizzled syrup on, and would have put on butter if it wasn't for mum. She threw her head back and laughed as I tried to sneak my hand over to the butter.

"No, Kass!" Mum yelled, still laughing. Dad looked up, and smiled at mum's happiness. Really? You care about your wife's happiness and not me? That's a fucking low. I didn't think you'd stoop so far down. She swatted my hand, so I don't touch the butter. I looked down and started to eat, happy mum made food today. Sea came waddling over to mum, let her pet him, came over to me and lied down on the ground. Sea was old, and he never had puppies, so maybe I'll get a puppy, so he'd have someone extremely happy around his last days.

"When will we get rid of that dog?" Dad asked, eating his food now. I threw him a confused look. "He's no use, right? Might as well give him up." How fuckin- Mum cut off my thought, and actually voiced my thoughts.

"Why? He's spent all his life here, let him stay till the end. It will keep Kass company. And," Mum looked at me with a mischievous look in her face. The same one I have sometimes. "We could get another."

Dad instantly shook his head. "Never again. That was only for Kieran, remember? It was his puppy." When was it... "We got him the puppy from his achievements. You just took care of it." Dad deadpanned. Mum looked at him oddly.
