Lucy looked at me with concern as I strolled up towards her in distress. I scanned around trying to find Christopher's stupid face. How dare he let the information slip so easily!?
"Okay, what did that a**hole say to you!? Do not let her get to you!" Lucy whisper yelled staring into my furious eyes. I took a deep breath, "I'm just annoyed okay. I just can't stand bullies."
"That's so obviously not true. Come on Adria, what did she actually say?"
"I'm going to do what you did. I'm going to spill a piece of information which might change the way you think of me." I took a deep breath while she tilted her head slightly, "and I'm going to reply to that piece of information the way you did when I spilt a piece of information."
"I-it's not like that Lucy-"
"Look Adria, I'm here for you. Even if we've known each other for barely a day, I have to say you've made me laugh more than people I've known my whole life have. I trust you and I don't trust people very easily so it means a lot. You can trust me too."
"I've been to jail." I tried to say it short and quick without any emotion but my lip quivered and I looked down, somewhat ashamed. "For what?" Lucy asked in a whisper. "F-for being part of an illegal drug dealing company."
"If you seriously thought that would change the way I think of you, I'm really starting to think that you don't know me at all." I looked up and she was smiling. Yes, she was actually smiling.
"Look, Adria, we both agree whatever you were part of is stupid and you shouldn't have been in it but seriously the past is the past, don't dwell on it. Now what did Ella say? I swear, I would punch her in the face if I could and you telling me what she said gives me more reason to do so."
I sighed. I was glad she didn't look at me indifferently, she acted like I had just told her that I'd had a breakfast bar this morning or something! "For some reason she knows. I'm just really um annoyed and I don't know, I can't find the right word! I just don't want the news to spread."
"I understand. But if the news spreads, stay strong like who actually gives a f**ck." I smiled, "yeah I guess."
"Seriously, don't worry about it." The conversation changed rapidly and we talked and talked, getting to know each other better until the bell finally rang. I smiled, "I'll see you later Luce,"
"Yeah, I'll see you after school."
Mathematics again. Fun.
Corridors lined with lockers on each side. God this school is a friking maze! Okay this turn and It must be the maths room. I checked my watch, good, I'll be five minutes early. I turned left, kept walking forward. Where the hell is the classroom!? I sighed, I'll just go the way I came and ask someone. Ugh that'll be embarrassing.
I spun around and suddenly realisation seeped into me. Quiet. Everything was quiet. No one, absolutely no one was in sight. What the actual hell!? I peered around, panic starting to rise within me. I was in a completely deserted corridor and completely lost!
I started speed walking down he corridor, nerves starting to bite at me. My head was spinning. God, this can't be happening. The place felt eerie, the whole atmosphere, it just felt wrong. Corridor after corridor. I slumped against a locker. placing a hand against my head in frustration. I slid down until I was sitting down, exhausted because of my useless running around like a desperate headless chicken.
Wow, I'm comparing myself to a headless chicken, my future must be bright. I mentally rolled my eyes.
I quickly took my phone out. My stupid hands were shaking causing myself to fumble around. God Adria, you've been in much worse situations than this, calm the hell down! A little voice nagged at me. I know, I know but I absolutely hate getting lost, it's just the worst feeling ever. You feel helpless in a way.
