"So," Ms. Clarkson started as she hopped up on her desk. She crossed her leg over the other and pouted, "This is our last week together. You guys' prom is only two weeks away. Then it's graduation and then... off to college. You guys get to venture off and start your lives. I've only been here for a year and a half but I got to see you guys grow. You've strengthened your talent and you all are something spectacular. Abigail we haven't known each other long, though it sure feels like it. I love each of you as if you were my own children."

Everyone listened intently to Ms. Clarkson. Especially me. I'm so glad I was granted a chance to become apart of this club. I didn't think of these people as my friends. I thought of them as family. A second family. They accepted me. They took me in for who I was and didn't shun me like everyone else in this damned school.

I use to hate people. I use to hate everyone in my school. I use to think I'd never have anything good to say about high school, years to come. I thought I'd be leaving this place with the worst experience ever. And for the people who would say that high school was the best part of life, I thought I would instantly tell them they were wrong. That was before I meet these amazing people. They managed to change my life in under a year. How they were able to do that, I guess I would never know.

"Don't make me cry Clarkson," Edward said as he feigned sadness and wiped the nonexistent tears from his cheeks. Everyone chuckled as he grinned.

"I'm not trying to make you guys cry," Ms. Clarkson laughed. "I just want you all to know how much I appreciate you. You're intelligent individuals and I know you'll all go far in life. And if you ever need a letter of recommendation, and I mean for anything, don't hesitate in asking me. I have only good things to say about you guys."

The whole room gets quiet and we all take this time to gaze around. In thought, of course.

"You know what," Edward starts, breaking the silence. "This really feels like the right time to declare a group hug!"

He stood up and opened his arms wide. After several seconds of contemplation, we all shrug a why not and stand up, hugging the life out of each other, Ms. Clarkson included. We all rocked back and forth and had no intentions on breaking apart. They were squeezing the life out of me but I didn't care. I could almost feel myself being brought to tears. I only hoped and prayed we could keep our friendship lasting for years.

"Promise me something," Sophie said. She was the smallest and was lost somewhere in the midst of the hug. All you could hear was her muffled voice.

"What is it Sophie bear?" Edward uttered.

"Okay, I'm going to pretend you didn't just call me that," she said. "But promise me we will always stay in contact with each other. Promise me we won't loose contact after school like most people do. Please, that's all I want. You guys are like my sisters...and brother."

"We promise Soph," Holly said as I felt her arms tighten. "We promise."

We all held onto each other for what felt like five more minutes before Ms. Clarkson pulled back and huffed.

"Guys it's after four which means you get to go home."

We all sighed and pulled away from the hug to gather our belongings.

"Don't think we're ending this without a party," Ms. Clarkson called before we left. "This Friday, bring stuff and drop it off in the morning."

We all chorused an okay and a goodbye before we departed from the class room, going our separate ways.
