As Jason was walking over to the forest, he could see that there were more police than normal at the park. It also seemed like the Revolution was out of business. Jason saw a sign that said Closed until the problem of the rollercoaster is solved.
"Well, they wouldn't want people falling off the ride again." Said Jason still looking at the Revolution.
Then he arrived at the very small forest. The trees seemed like they would topple over onto you if you stared up at them. That made Jason's stomach queasy so he didn't want to dwell on doing that anymore so he walked on.
He trudged along the wet grass, looking around for anyone or anything suspicious. One step after another he made a squeaking sound.
"Well that's annoying. That's probably because it either rained last night or they sprinkle the grass every night." Said Jason to himself.
As he was looking down at the grass, he didn't notice that he was about to trip on a cement walkway. He looked up and saw it at the last second, he jumped over it but tripped so he landed on his bum. Jason got up and felt that his bum was wet with mud, and that really annoyed him.
He got up and saw the cement walkway and thought about what his dad said last night. Something about the shoe prints stopping at a cement walkway. Then he decided about taking a walk down the pathway to see if he could find anything or if he could find the shoe prints, if they weren't washed away by the sprinklers.
As he walked along the cement walkway he looked upwards, and noticed that it was getting a bit darker. The trees were getting a bit taller and closer together than normal.
"That's probably why I couldn't see more of the silver thing than I did."
Then Jason found a clearing and saw that the shoe prints were still there. He looked at how big the shoe prints were and they seemed pretty big, they looked like they would be size 11 or 12.
"Man, this guy must have a pretty big body build if he has these ginormous feet."
Then he saw the grooves in the dirt and saw that it was in a circular pattern, just as his dad had said. He still looked around but he couldn't find where the grass was flattened. Then he decided to investigate more down the cement walkway, so he kept on walking.
As he walked down the path, he saw the different rides. He found himself starting to go off the path to play on the rides, but he had some work to do so he got back on the path and trudged on. On the walkway, he found out that there was mud shaped in foot prints so it seemed that the people came this way. It had the same style of shoe at the bottom and the shoe print was facing the way he was going.
"I guess I'm on their trail." Said Jason now getting interested.
So he kept on walking and found a little hut that looked pretty old. It had some cracks in its wood boards, and its windows had very bad chinks in the glass. There were some that were even shattered completely. There was moss growing on the side of the house and it stunk really bad, like men's body odour.
"Why would it stink so much like men's body odour?" Said Jason as he covered his mouth.
He started walking towards the door, because the cabin looked a bit suspicious. He opened the door and saw two chairs, a table, and a tarp covering something that he couldn't see yet. He saw some papers and got a bit more interested, so he decided to lift up the tarp. Jason lifted it up and saw a bunch of boxes that said trampolines on them. That's when he got intrigued to check the cabin more but before he could investigate, he heard a scream and other people rushing about around another rollercoaster.
Jason started to get out of the cabin when he heard sirens and he could tell that he could get into trouble if he stayed any longer at the cabin. He got on the cement pathway and ran back the way he came.
He arrived at the parking lot just as his dad was starting to walk out the park entrance.
"He must've looked and just taken some pictures at the problem or he is going back to call Geoff off his own detective phone. Said Jason as he just got to the car.
The car was locked, that was not good. If Jason's dad saw him there, he knew Jason would be up to something. Jason went through his mind, trying to make decisions. He decided to get in the car once his dad unlocks the car.
Click! The car unlocked and his dad was quite close now. He had to scrunch in the back seat or he would be seen going inside the trunk. He saw that there were blankets and carpets that he could hide under. Jason opened the door farthest away from his dad and got in. He put the blankets and carpets over top of him and waited for not even thirty seconds before his dad arrived at the car.
The door closed and they sped off out of the parking lot and towards their house. After a few stops, Jason was a bit scared about being shifted around in the car. Once when the car stopped so abruptly, Jason almost fell into the footwell but he was able to stay on the seat. Then the car pulled into the driveway and the garage. Jason's dad got out of the car and closed the big garage door.
Jason got out of the car and got out the side door of the garage. Once he got around the garage he just saw his dad get inside the house and close the door. Jason walked down the street a few houses so he didn't look weird walking from the garage. He got to the walkway and walked up the steps of the house and opened the door.
"Hey dad, how was your trip to Rollercoaster Park?"
"Good, there was another person that fell off another a rollercoaster, it was a girl this time."
"Interesting."
"Ya, the police were all there already but they couldn't find anything that could make the mystery closer to solving."
"Did you at least see any differences with the area where the girl fell."
"Yes, there was a circular groove in the dirt like the first area and there was a flat area of grass just like the last one."
"Really? Any foot prints at all?" Said Jason curiously.
"Ya, there were some but they were still only one pair."
"Also the girl was found at her doorstep with her wallet gone just like the last person who fell."
"Weird, well, I have to do the rest of my homework so I'll see you later." Said Jason then he ran upstairs to his bedroom.
Jason started to rethink everything in his mind about the mystery. Foot prints, circular groove, flat grass, cabin and those boxes of trampolines. He didn't know what would be going on but he did have some homework to do so he got off his bed and stood up. Jason reached for his bag and opened it. He took out his math sheets and booklets and started his math.
Jason just couldn't stay on topic with the homework because he just kept on thinking about the mystery, so once he was finished his books, he stuffed his math stuff into his bag and sat down, wondering about the day ahead of him.
