Jason's day at school was a blur. He didn't really remember anything except gym. That's when he went to sleep doing soccer.
'Man, that was annoying.' Thought Jason.
Jason walked up the steps of his house, and into the door. It was locked! Michael and Diana must be at work, but Diana doesn't have work. He took his bag off of his shoulder and onto the ground. He opened the bag and took out his key out of a secret pocket. It slid into the keyhole easily and clicked.
Jason opened the door to the house and stepped inside. There was nothing different about the house, everything was where it should be. He walked over to the steps and sat down. He untied his laces and took off his shoes well he was looking around at the house. Still, nothing seemed different.
"I should call mom, to see if she is okay."
He took his phone out of his bag and dialled her phone number. There were three rings and then voice.
"Hello, this Diana Denim."
Jason made a sigh of relief, knowing that his mom wasn't in danger.
"Hi mom, I was just wondering where you were?"
"Oh, hi Jason, I am at the shopping mall with my friends."
"Okay, thank you, I will be leaving now."
"Okay bye."
"Bye."
Then Jason hung up and created a sigh of relief. He stood up and brought his bag upstairs to his bedroom. He opened his bag and took out his notebooks and homework so he could study. His math homework was easy because of all the notes that he wrote down but language was very difficult. Language just wasn't his forté.
He finished it, but it took around forty-five minutes out of his life that he would've liked to spend on something else.
He got up and decided to text Levi and see if he would want to go and inspect the cabin again. He replied saying yes and to meet at 5:00 at the front walkway. Jason got up and phoned his mom that he was going to the rollercoasters again and that he wouldn't be home for a while.
Jason got up and stepped down the steps and out the door. It suddenly got very humid and dark clouds seemed like they were going to hit Cramton but Jason didn't bring a rain coat.
"The rain is probably going to hit the city once I am finished."
Then he got on his bike and rode off towards Rollercoaster Park.Levi was already there when Jason arrived. Levi seemed angry but Jason didn't know why.
"You are late Jason!"
"I'm sorry, there was traffic and I got stopped."
"Stop with your excuses get over here!"
Then Jason started laughing because of how over dramatic Levi was being. Levi also started to crack up, then the two boys were laughing so much that their stomachs were hurting.
"Come along Levi, let's get over to the cabin."
Jason locked his bike on a stand and the two boys walked past the parking lot and into the forest. They found the cement walkway and went down it, towards the cabin.
They arrived at the wood house, and opened the door. There was no one there and nothing had been changed from yesterday. The same tarp and boxes, the same chairs and desks. Nothing different. They decided to inspect the little hole with the trampolines in it. They walked over to the indent in the grass and found that the hole was covered up again. Jason stepped on it and he fell in the hole. He bounced on the trampoline for a bit then stopped, and Levi jumped down.
They both stood up and opened the little door in the ground. They looked at the hole and started to walk through. They found the door that was locked yesterday, and it was still locked. They left it behind and walked down the hall until they arrived at the ladder and the trapdoor. Jason started to climb it but Levi stopped him.
"Jason, don't go up there, the robbers might be there." Levi whispered.
"Well I'll go to the top of the ladder and see if I here any voices." Replied Jason.
He got to the top and waited for a minute or two and didn't here any voices. He turned around and looked at Levi. Jason made a thumbs up motion saying that he was going up. Then he opened the trapdoor but it was difficult, it was like there was something on top of it. Once he got out of the hole and onto the wooden floor, he noticed that the room was dark.
The room seemed to have lost its light. It had no windows and it was so dark. He touched out at the darkness, then he felt something. It was a tarp, just like the one in the cabin. Then he felt around again and felt a box, that was why the trapdoor was so hard to open. Jason felt the trapdoor, and punched it. He heard someone fall backwards and step back up.
"That was not funny Jason!"
"Yes it was, now come up here, it's safe."
He heard Levi coming up the ladder and open the trapdoor. Light cut through the darkness and it was too bright for Jason that he had to close his eyes. When the light faded out, Jason opened his eyes and saw an outline of a body next to him. Once he was able to see better, he was staring at some boxes. Then he understood why the tarp was staying up, it was because of the boxes. He looked at Levi and was actually able to see his face, he looked frightened.
"Why are you frightened?"
Levi pointed towards the wood wall and then pointed to his ears. Jason didn't know what he meant but then he heard it too. They could here footsteps, smashing down on the grass like, thud thud thud. He heard the people go past the outside of the cabin and onto the wood deck. Levi pointed towards the trapdoor but Jason shook his head, and Levi started to look even more scared.
The door opened and Jason heard dragging and footsteps. Chairs got dragged and someone placed someone on something. Someone finally said something, and Jason thought it sounded familiar.
"Well, it's a boy this time." Said rough voice.
"Ya, man this is getting way to dangerous."
"We only have two more rollercoasters to do then we do the big haul."
"I'm still so scared."
"Don't be a wimp, how do you feel about this Gabe?"
"I'm okay, but I am feeling very uneasy with the job."
"Am I the only one who isn't a wimp here, this job is dangerous, but we will get good money from it."
"Well, since we do only-"
A noise happened right next to Jason and he looked behind him. Levi was opening the trapdoor and about to go down. Jason was trying to stop him but then he heard rough voice say something.
"Someone is here, Gabe you get those people, me and Luke will loot the body and take him away."
Then Jason heard chairs slide against the wood floor and footsteps. Jason new he had only one choice if he wanted to escape the robbers. He crawled to the trapdoor and opened it and put his feet on the ladder, then he slid down. Just when he landed on the dirt, the trapdoor was lifted open and a face was staring down at him.
"It's a kid?!" Said Gabe.
"Well, get him!" Said rough voice.
Jason started running down the hall with Gabe right behind him. Jason looked behind and saw that he was holding knifes. Gabe threw one and it landed right behind Jason's feet. Jason noticed what he was trying to do. Gabe was trying to hit his feet so Jason would trip, but he couldn't allow that. He jumped up and down trying to dodge the knives and Gabe just kept on throwing them.
Jason arrived at the door to the hole and banged straight into it but it didn't open. Then a knife went right past him and hit the door handle so it wouldn't open. Jason turned around and saw Gabe staring at him with a knife in his hand. Jason took the knife out of the door and thought of throwing it at Gabe. He did throw knifes before so he thought he could do it. He raised it over his head and threw it over hand. It hit Gabe in the ankle and he yelled falling backwards.
"Sorry, but I have to get back home."
Then Jason opened the door and got out of the hole. There were no police coming yet, so Jason got onto the cement walkway and started running. Once he arrived at the edge of the forest, Jason saw Levi biking away for a second, and then a car going from the parking lot. He went over to the bike stand and unlocked his bike and hopped on.
As he was biking home, he kept on thinking about Gabe, and how he now has a knife in his foot. Luckily there was no blood that he saw, but there was probably a lot after he left. That thought made him queasy so he put that behind him. He looked up at the sky and noticed the dark clouds have gone. He thought that was good so, then he rode on.
He arrived home and opened the big garage door. He put his bike inside and put his helmet away. He closed the door and walked up the steps to the home door. He took his key out of his pocket and started unlocking the door, but before he could open the door, someone started yelling at him.
"Why you, stop trying to break into my house."
Then Jason turned around and saw his mom standing there next to her car with an angry face. Her face softened and then she sighed.
"Sorry about that Jason, I thought you were a burglar."
"It's okay mom, it's totally fine." Said Jason as he opened the door.
Jason walked inside the house. He held the door open for his mom until she came inside, then he closed the door. Then his mom asked something.
"So, what did you do with Levi?"Now it just got stressful. If you liked the chapter, put in your votes and comments!
