Nicholas's pov
I glared at the sofa in my office where he was hiding, my weak, useless mate. Not only has he been avoiding my touch for nearly a month, he's somehow managed to shift even though he's still a pup. The pack's doctor said it was because he needs to get ready for the birth of our pups, but he wasn't there that night . . . he didn't see what happened after I took care of the trash that dared to touch my mate . . . the little brat, after everything I did for him, he has the nerve to call me a monster! A growl manages to escape me and I hear him whimper in response as he shuffles further away as if trying to escape my anger.
"You can't hide from me forever, Jaime."
No reply.
Suddenly furious beyond belief, I make my way over to him tossing the couch away and he makes a sound between a moan and a scream as he presses himself against the wall.
"I did it all for you . . . everything I've ever done has been to protect you and you call me a monster?! Refuse to let me touch you?!"
'Please, just leave me alone.'
"You're my mate! It's my right to touch you . . . to take you . . . how dare you refuse me?!"
'Y-You killed them . . . why did you___?"
"Why did I?! Why did you?! Who gave you permission to leave the pack house?! Who gave you permission to leave my bed?!"
'I . . . I just needed___________.'
"You need nothing more or less than what I give you! You're nothing but a selfish child!"
'And you're a monster! I hate you . . . I don't want to be your mate!'
"And where will you go? Who would accept a defiled rogue who is carrying someone else's pups?"
'Then . . . Then I'll live on my own . . . I don't need anyone to take care of me.'
"I'll have you killed if you try to leave me. I'll have my hunters track you down, rip the pups from your body and kill them in front of you . . . I'll have them torture your body until you beg for death and only when they get tired of hurting you, will they be allowed to kill you. Now what are you going to do?"
'I_______________.'
"First, you're going to shift back so you can apologize to me for all the trouble you've caused me and then you're going to get on your knees and beg me to take you, isn't that right?"
I smiled when he nodded his head, slowly forcing his body to return to its human form. Several whines escaped him as his bones shifted and reset around the pups he was carrying, until he finally stood in front of me, trembling in fear.
"Well?"
"I-I'm sorry Nicholas . . . I'm sorry I've been disobedient."
He stared at me hopefully, which made me angry all over again and I struck him across the face, knocking him to the floor.
"Did you really think that was good enough to satisfy me?! I didn't believe a word you just said!"
Please. "
"I'm waiting."
"I'm . . . I'm sorry."
"I'm going to give you to Quinn, maybe after he displines you again, you'll be more cooperative."
No . . . No please! I'm sorry! I'm so sorry that I disobeyed you and . . . and I'm sorry that I ran from you, please . . . . please forgive me Nicholas! "
"See, that wasn't so hard, was it? I mean I still don't believe you, but at least you sounded like you meant it that time."
A tear slid down his cheek as he slowly rose to his knees and crawled over to me.
