Eric's pov
I can't believe I'm coming home after seven years . . . I finally get to see Jaime after being forced apart after the death of the Luna. I still don't understand why it happened, I mean we were friends, yet for some reason the Alpha suddenly considered my family a threat to his son and threw us out of the pack land on penalty of death.
"Fligh 210 out of Geneva, New York to Guadalajara, Mexico will be departing in five minutes."
I eagerly moved towards gate three and handed the attendant my ticket.
"Enjoy your flight, sir."
Nodding my thanks, I quickly made my way to the plane and found my seat, closing my eyes and letting my mind drift to thoughts of Jaime. He was only six and I was eight when I was forced to leave. My dad was the pack's Beta and I was supposed to take his place. Even now I remember when the Luna, Elizabeth brought out this tiny adorable kid who hid behind her leg, staring up at me with those wonderful huge grey eyes full of nothing but innocence. I knew from the first time I saw him that it was my life's mission to protect him. But just why was the connection between us so strong? Why was I so willing to risk my life for him? Somewhere in the midst of my thoughts I must have drifted off, because the next thing I knew, I was being shaken awake by the stewardess and told we'd landed. Saying a polite thank you, I smiled when she blushed and followed her off the plane. I reached the airport and stepped into the small café, deciding to order coffee before getting my luggage and catching a taxi to a hotel. As I got in line and waited to be served, someone stepped up behind me and I stiffened and slowly turned as his familiar scent hit my nose and a familiar voice reached my ears.
"What are you doing here, Eric?"
"Quinn."
Glaring at me, Quinn tightened his hold on someone that was standing behind him and they cried out in pain, catching my attention.
"Jamie?!"
Quinn let out a chuckle, shaking his head in amusement.
"Why would Jamie be here . . . the Alpha would never let his Luna leave his side."
"Luna, but Jamie's his______________!"
"Not anymore. The Alpha's already mated him and filled him with his pups."
I stared at him in disbelief for several minutes, before an unexpected wave of anger washed over me.
"And you just stood by and let him do it?!"
"Trust me, your little Jaime enjoyed it. He begged for more with every thrust. Besides I understand why the Alpha wanted him so badly . . . he's quite the little tiger in bed."
"What?"
Smirking, Quinn pulled the person who I now realize was a boy about my age closer and I could see the terror and pain in his eyes.
"Your mate?"
"Not yet . . . but that's not why I brought him here. He's the closest you're going to get to knowing what Jaime looks like."
I studied the small frail beauty in front of me, becoming even more anxious to see Jaime.
"I'm going to rescue him. Jamie's coming with me."
"You really don't get it, do you? Even if you were able to get close to him, he would never leave . . . the Alpha has completely broken him. It's too late to keep your promise to protect him."
I could feel my wolf surfacing and Quinn must have noticed too, because I saw a hint of fear in his eyes before he quickly left, dragging the young boy behind him.
