Dinner with the Todoroki family. With his family.
At first, Dabi couldn't even believe he agreed to the idea. He fell victim to your cuteness, as per usual, but he didn't have high expectations. In fact, he fully expected it to go terribly. Atrociously, even. Yet here he is. It's late, but he finally made his way back to the Shie Hassaikai, and he's... in a good mood.
He's in a really good mood.
"Where the hell have you been?" Chisaki snaps.
Ah, of course. Here comes Mr. Stick-Up-His-Butt. Honestly, though, it doesn't even matter what he's about to say. Dabi doubts anything could bring him down right now. Especially given how his last conversation with you ended. For all intents and purposes, it's best to try and stay on Chisaki's good side.
Well... kind of.
It's pretty hard to resist the urge to screw with him.
"Don't worry, I wasn't cheating on you," Dabi says, holding back a chuckle. "There's no need to get jealous."
Chisaki's eyes narrow into slits. "You're so disgusting, I don't even know where to start. Don't ever joke about things like that. They sicken me."
"Why, because I'm a man?"
"No. Because the implication of being romantically involved with someone as disease-ridden as you makes me want to puke."
"Ah, got it," Dabi muses. "Well, I guess it's good to know you don't discriminate. Why do you keep rejecting Kurono, then? I almost feel bad for him."
"Enough with the bullshit," Chisaki snaps again, growing more impatient by the second. "Just tell me where you went. You clearly aren't searching for the League anymore, so where were you? I made a promise to [Name]. If you do something stupid and get yourself in trouble, she'll be mad at me because I didn't do a good enough job of watching over you."
"Yeah, I don't think you need to worry about that."
Chisaki arches a brow. "And what's that supposed to mean?"
"Because I was just with her. We had dinner together."
Silence. It stretches out for quite a while, too. Dabi really couldn't help himself, it seems. And so soon after he just resolved to stay in Chisaki's good graces.
"Sometimes," Chisaki mutters, and his jaw noticeably clenches underneath his mask, "I really feel like you're asking me to be killed."
"Well, she invited me," Dabi says, not even bothering to hide his grin. "I was actually going to refuse, but you know how she is. It's hard to say no to her. And we didn't go alone or anything, so chill out. She invited me over to her friend's place. It was a family dinner."
"But... why?" Chisaki says, and just like that, his intimidating demeanor completely shatters. He almost looks like he's about to drop to his knees and start wailing. "Why would she bring you to meet her friend's family, and not me?!"
Dabi gives him a disbelieving look. "Are you seriously asking that? After you nearly got yourself arrested by that hero, Aizawa? You stalked people in [Name]'s life so that you could track her down, and even made a bunch of threats. No shit you can't just show up wherever you want. How's she supposed to introduce you anyway? You're a gangster."
"And you're a filthy toilet demon!" Chisaki screams.
"...wow. That one's new."
Dabi rolls his eyes. Meh, whatever. He's still in a good mood, believe it or not. For once, he'll be the bigger man and let the insults roll right off his back.
