"Alright, here we are," Hawks says. "Hosu General Hospital. Just give me a minute, and I'll convince them to let you see your friends, okay? While you're here, it probably can't hurt to get your injuries checked too."

"Okay," you nod, and Hawks nods back, lips pulled into a warm smile.

You felt bad about dragging Tokoyami here against his will, so Hawks told him he was free to go home earlier. He already knows the others are okay—you were able to confirm as much over the phone. And of course, you kind of already knew they'd be able to defeat Stain, but that's neither here nor there. You still wouldn't mind seeing them with your own eyes. It feels like a waste not to stop by when you're already here in Hosu.

Plus, after how you not-so-casually told them about your encounter with Shigaraki, it'd be kind of messed up to just leave them wondering about what happened.

You take a seat and wait while Hawks speaks to one of the receptionists, who ends up passing the message along to a nurse, and before long, you're being led towards one of the rooms.

"They should all be in here," the nurse says. "Take your time."

She leaves with a slight tip of her head, and you glance over at Hawks for affirmation, to which he simply smiles again. So, you knock on the door, wait a moment, then step inside.

Admittedly, it's a familiar sight. All three of them are bandaged up, to varying degrees, but none of them are in critical condition. They might even be a little less roughed up than they were in canon? Honestly, it's hard to tell, but the atmosphere is different, undeniably.

In the actual series, Iida was deliberately searching for Stain in order to enact revenge. This time, if you had to hazard a guess, it wasn't so much about revenge, more so knowing that the Hero Killer was still out there. You suppose he chose a Hosu-based agency because he was worried. Because he didn't want anyone else to end up in the same state as Tensei. After all, Tensei may have been cured thanks to Chisaki's Quirk, but the average person isn't so fortunate to have their lifelong injuries instantaneously reversed.

Regardless of his intentions this time around, though, it doesn't change the fact that his mindset was still dangerous. Sometimes, lessons are learned the hard way, but... wanting to save people is exactly what heroes do, isn't it?

"Ah, so it's you three," Hawks says, and they all blink, clearly not having expected him of all people to pay them a visit. "[Name] told me you're her friends, and her classmates. I'm sorry that you had such a rough go of it with the Hero Killer. How are you all feeling?"

They all exchange glances for a moment, then nod unsurely, clearly withholding their words—alongside the truth.

"We're fine, thank you," Izuku says, plastering a quick, awkward smile.

Literally not a single one of these guys can lie convincingly.

On the bright side, at least Shouto's not the one who spoke up just now. Because that would somehow have been even worse.

"Good, good," Hawks smiles back.

He doesn't look like he has any reason to be suspicious, thankfully, and who knows? The police are determined to keep the true nature of this incident a secret, but maybe high-ranking pro heroes such as Hawks are included in that equation. It wouldn't surprise you if he found out about it eventually. Especially with all the ways Hawks already operates behind the scenes.

"Well, I know [Name] wanted to fill you in on a few things, so I'll give you some space," he says, keeping his gaze fixed on you. "But once you're done talking to them, just let me know, alright? I still think you should be examined, even if you say it's not that big of a deal."
