-------------------------
Just as you expected, nothing much has happened recently.
You did your best not to overthink and worry too much, so that you could enjoy these last few peaceful days before the impending forest lodge attack—which is all but certain. You helped Kaminari study for the written exam (despite how seemingly painful it was for him), and now, it's only a matter of time before his efforts are put to the test.
You're pretty sure that according to the canon progression of My Hero Academia, Kaminari ends up needing lessons anyway... but maybe that'll be different this time.
Regardless, everyone will be allowed to come on the trip, whether they fail or not. Aizawa is once again pulling a "tactical ruse" on his students. It won't work on you, though. Not that you really need the assurance, because as far as you're concerned, the written exam is going to be a piece of cake. It's the practical component you're worried about.
You wonder which teacher you'll end up facing. There's really no way to know, which is a shame, so you've tried to formulate a rough strategy for every single one of the options, just to be on the safe side. You'll have a much easier time dealing with certain matchups as opposed to others. But if you happen to end up fighting All Might, you don't really have a plan. He is, without a doubt, the most challenging opponent.
So, hopefully it won't come to that!
Morning classes are the same as always, although now that the forest lodge trip is so close you can practically taste it, you find yourself daydreaming again. Dabi isn't part of the League, so that means he won't be part of the ambush either. They won't have his flame Quirk to fall back upon. You're hoping that means it'll decrease the odds of their plan succeeding, but you really don't know.
Katsuki is still at risk of being kidnapped, even though things have changed. Maybe Shigaraki has still taken an interest in him, regardless of the Sports Festival's outcome in this timeline. Yes, he didn't end up on the podium like in canon and making a big show of refusing his "unearned" victory, but Katsuki's temperament is well-known either way. It's possible Shigaraki has already had his eye on him for a while now.
Of course, it's even more possible that you'll be kidnapped instead. Or maybe you'll both end up being captured?? It's hard to predict how all these changes will culminate, and what the final outcome will be. Ideally, no one gets kidnapped, but you need to prepare yourself for the worst-case scenario.
To put it simply, you have a lot of things on your mind—including Chisaki's mental stability—so you actually welcome these exams. Exams are a typical school activity. They feel mundane, but comfortable. Familiar. Soon you'll be out there, getting attacked by villains again. After that, the situation with the League is supposed to escalate even further. This world is potentially looking at an all-out war later on, and as much as you'd like to be able to prevent it, you're not sure how realistic such a thing would be. Your cuteness isn't all-powerful. It's pretty damn powerful, but alas, not powerful enough to stop a war.
Unless your words end up getting through to Shigaraki eventually. It's incredibly unlikely, so you don't even dare to dream it might work... but if by some miracle it did, the world would be infinitely better for it.
And perhaps this time, Shigaraki might not suffer such a bitter fate.
"[Name]?"
You blink. Shouto's standing right next to your desk, head tilted down towards you, with his brows pulled together.
