Chapter 2 - The eyes

Alison's POV

A pair of blood red eyes.

A scream escaped my mouth as I jumped back in total astonishment. What was that? I stumbled back and noticed the red eyes moving closer to me. My heart was racing and I was aboslutley terrified. I didn't want to die. At least not yet. I was breathing hard as I took cautious steps backwards, ready to run from what was coming for me. A figure sudddenly emerged from the darkness of the cell. In front of me, stood a tall, muscular man. His eyes were red and he looked dirty, as though he had been in that cell for centuries. My eyes widened, before I panicked and started running from where I came from. I could hear the faint sound of footsteps behind me, but I focused on getting the hell out of this place. I dashed out the wooden door looking through each passageway for any possible exit.

But before I could, an arm reached me, pushing me into one of the walls. The same red eyes were hovering my figure on the wall. His face instantly buried in the crook of my neck where I felt a sharp sting. Suddenly he was sucking me in both a painful but pleasurable manner. I struggled to be free from his iron grip, but he wouldn't budge. I kicked and thrashed around feeling absolutley drained. An idea came to mind and I kicked him where the sun don't shine. He stumbled back and I took that as an opportunity to run away.

Sprinting as fast as I could, I arrived a hallway I could recognise and made my way to the entrance, just making it out. I could hear bloodsucker's footsteps thud on the floor but I ran out on the road once I was out. Finally free from that terrible experience.

I walked into that castle expecting something totally different. Yet here I am, blood sucked, but mostly, even more curious.

Reaching my house safely, I slipped past the living room - where my mom was dozed off - into my bathroom where I cleaned my blood and patched up my wound. I took a short shower and changed into fresh clothes. After I was out, my actions upon my curiosity began. Turning on my laptop, I reasearched whatever I could about the Warwick castle. Skipping through articles, I arrived a short legend about the Castle and clicked it open.

The Curse of Warwick

There are lots of beliefs upon the curse of Warwick. Legends say that the young prince Wilson was cursed a dreadful death. Others say he was cursed with a fate worse than dearth. What the curse really is, no one knows but historians have been trying to figure it out for centuries.

Great, I thought. No one knew what the hell was wrong with the damn castle! This could only mean one thing: I had to go back and find out from Mr. Bloodsucker myself. How I was going to do that, I had no idea. But I knew I had to do it. Something about the man in the castle made me want to save him. And that was just what I was going to do.

The next day, I walked out of school straight into the hospital. Why you ask? Well if I was going to go back to the castle, I would take safety precautions. Blood bags. Cliché, I know. Running towards the section, I sneaked in. I was pretending to be a blood donor, so I found my way towards the blood fridge and sneakily pulled out two packets, dumping them in my bag as fast as I could before the doctor walked back in with her equipment.

"Alright Alison, are you ready?" Dr. Treyson asked me, placing her equipment beside me. A big needle was in the bundle of equipment and I immediatley felt nauseous. I held my head and faked a groan. "Alison, are you alright?" She asked me once again. I shook my head, putting on the best act I could.

"No, I feel dizzy. Maybe I can come back another day?"

"Of course. No pressure. Go home." She ordered. I nodded and walked out of the hospital, feeling proud of my acting skills. Well that was fast.

I pushed my legs to walk faster towards the castle, feeling awkward carrying blood bags in my purse. When the Castle was in sight, a rush of adrenaline pumped through my veins. I was somewhat excited and nervous. I arrived the door, my hands shaking thinking about my next move. I pushed the thoughts away and punched the large doors open peeking my head inside before I stepped inside. I debating on keeping the door of the castle open, but I wasn't allowed here in the first place so I was left with no choice but to close them behind me. Taking slow steps into the castle, I pulled out the blood bags, ready for my actions. I walked across sevral halls for sevral minutes until I arrived the kitchen. It was rather old. Antique cutlary was surrounding it but what caught my attention was the huge figure seated on one of the chairs. His clothes were the same as the man I had seen the previous day and instantly I knew it was him. His head was placed in his hands even after I stood right outside the kitchen door. Not knowing what to do, I tried to catch his attention. I cleared my throat before my petite squeaky voice erupted the kitched walls.

"Hi" I said. It was loud enough to be echoed but still low enough for me. His head didn't snap up, making me wonder if he was asleep. Maybe he didn't hear me? I should try again. Right? Capturing all the confidence I had in me, I repeated the words, this time louder. "Hi" His head was still. Okay maybe this wasn't a great plan. I turned around ready to leave when I heard a voice.

"What do you want?" I turned around in light speed. His head was still clasped in his hands, and he had a thick english formal accent.

"I... I just wanted to talk to you." This time his head rose from his hands and he slowly faced me. My heart froze at the sight of him. He was hot! I mean, despite the patches of dirt on his face and clothes - which were very old fashioned - he was absolutley gorgeous. He had tousled brown hair and matching eyes that bored into mine with grave intensity. For a minute, I did nothing but stare, making me embarrassed. My cheeks tinted pink as I thought of what to say. "What's your name?" I asked. Good start.

"Brian Wilson. Who are you and what are you doing in my kingdom?" He asked me, rising from his seat as he made his way towards poor old confused as fuck me.

"What? K-kingdom?" I stuttered, unsure if I heard him right.

"What year is this?"

"2015" His eyes widened in shock as he walked back to the chair and resumed his old position, head in hands on the table. He muttered incoherent words under his breath before I collected all the courage in me and sat on the chair next to him.

"Look I don't know who you are and what you are, but what I saw yesturday, that was definitley not human. You need to tell me everything about you." I said bringing his head to face me.

"Who are you?" His question took me by surprise as it contained a sprinkle of anger.

"My name is Alison. Alison Stones. Can you please tell me about yourself. Who you are? What you are? Maybe I can help you-"

"Why are you back? I drank from you yesturday, how do you know I will not do it again?" He interrupted. I grinned, pulling the blood bags out of my purse and putting them down on the table in front of his awe struck face. "Where did you get those?"

"Does it matter? At least I know you won't drink from me now. Getting back to the point, can you please tell me about yourself?" He took one last deep breath before he made his mind up.

"Very well Alison, let me begin..."
