Chapter 17 - The Warning
Alison's POV
I walked through the familiar gates of my school, dreading the day ahead of me. The only thing I was up to doing was curling up in bed with my new vampire boyfriend. The thought made me chuckle interanlly. Never did I ever think I would be saying those words in my life. During the course of a few weeks, my life had changed to the other polar opposite. I went from being the silent, nerdy Alison Stones to the Sherlock Holmes, badass supernatural fighter Alison Stones who now had a supernatural boyfriend who was also former King of England. Great. I walked to my registration room, sitting down a grinning Paisley. She cut me off before I could even utter a word.
"I'm so happy for you! How was it? Was he gentle? Did he kiss like a vampire. Oh this is so cute!" She squeaked. If it weren't for it being a lazy Monday morning, the rest of my class would have probably heard her. But they all just looked like dead zombies. A blush crept up to my face as the memories flew through my head. I looked down at my lap, trying to cover my embrassment.
"It was perfect" I simply replied, keeping my head down.
"Awwwww, I ship you two already. I can't wait till there's a mini Alison and Brian running down the halls. Promise me you'll make me your made of honour" I looked up at her in absolute horror. Sure, I viewed myself having a future with Brian, but my thoughts certainly never got that far.
"Pais, I'm 17 for god's sake!" she smirked, ignoring my comment.
"You might be 17 Ali, but you're in love. I can see it." The bell suddenly rang, making the moment end. Thank god. I rushed out of the classroom, heading towards my first lesson. I walked into my history class, the place where it all began, the place I should be thanking. Laura abruptly popped up next to me, cutting me from my thoughts.
"So, I heard! You're finally together!! I can't believe it!" She jumped of excitement, tackling me into a hug. I laughed, covering my once again tinted cheeks.
"Yeah, so that happened" I commented. I could see Laura wanting to burst out more, but thankfully, the teacher walked in, making us focus on the class once again.

School passed in a blur, and the next thing I knew, I was making my way past the large school gate, my freedom awaiting me. Excitement consumed me as I started walking away, heading towards the castle, but my feet didn't make it five steps out the door before I froze. In front of me, outside my school doors, stood Brian. A different Brian. Gone were the hideous clothes from the 1900's or the old clothes I lent him that belonged to my father. In front of me, was an extremely hot guy, wearing skinny jeans, and a white v-neck t-shirt that clung to him perfectly, accentuating every muscle of his chest and his biceps were highlighted as he stood with his arms crossed. He had a new haircut and he stood smirking at me as I slowly approached him.
"Wha....what the..... wow" I trailed off, right in front of him. My mouth was open as I continued staring at him. He chuckle, closing me in his arms as he looked straight into my eyes.
"Lana gave me a makeover, she said it was time I became familiar with this era."
"She did a pretty damn good job, I must say"
"So, do I look hot?" I looked a him in even more surprise. The last time I checked, I did not teach him the definition of the word 'hot'. "Yes, Lana taught me what it means, she also told me to ask you if I look hot. So, do I... look hot?" I looked at him in amusement, and without uttering another word, placed my lips on his, answering his question instnanly. He didn't hesitate in responding back, his grasp on me increasing as he pulled me closer into him, his strong arms around me completley and my arms around his neck. We soon parted to get air, his head leaning on mine.
"We should get back to the castle, people are staring" he whispered to me, making me losen in his embrace and turn back to find half the school eyeing in my direction. Paisley and Laura were the ones standing out as they both pulled up their thumbs at me. I looked back at Brian, nodding and dragging him out of my school, towards the castle.
As we entered the castle, it was an absolute mess; papers were everywhere. Chairs were broken and tables were thrown. Instantly, we both felt the signs of danger and he immediatley took a protective stance in front of me, his eyes turning red and his fangs slowly unleashing. We advanced slowly further in the house, and came to a stop by the kitchen. Lana stood frozen by the kitchen, a letter in her hand and steam fuming off of her.
"Lana? What's wrong?" I questioned, walking from behind Brian towards her. She gripped the letter tighter and Brian grabbed my arm, stopping me from making my way towards her.
"Lana, are you okay?" He asked. Her eyes closed as she uttered her words through her gritted teeth.
"She threatened to hurt my daugter. I will kill her" Brian approached her, grabbing the letter from her hands, he read it quickly, passing it down to me.
Such a darling she is. Wouldn't like to see what she looks like when she's a skeleton. Underneath was a picture of Laura smiling, right outside my school. It was dated two days ago. I looked back at Lana who had her back to us, her fists breaking through the table beneath her.
"Lana stop" and she did. She looked back at us, and tears covered her face. I walked up to her and embraced her in a hug. "We won't let her do anything okay? We will fight this through. Now go back to your daughter." I encouraged her as she scurried away from us after a small thanking.
The rest of my day flew by, getting to Brian better as we sat on his couch, a movie playing in front of us. It took his eyes time to adjust to the actual reality that such things could exist, but he got over it.
Soon, I was back home walking upstairs to my bedroom. The thoughts of the day still glued to my mind. I internally laughed, pushing the door to my room open and closing it behind me.
I was suddenly pulled out of my daydream when a familiar voice awakened me right behind me. I turned back, and my eyes popped out of my socket. She was right in front of me. The person we were so desperatley looking for. The person who started all of this. The person who hurt the person I loved. Grettan.
