Savannah's POV:
"Come on Savannah, you got to do better than that!" My training coach yelled at me from afar. I was sparing with Riley, and so far, the girl was giving me the hardest time ever. I haven't gotten a single scratch on her, but she managed to strike at me every time.
We both circled around each other, checking for any weak spots, but I just couldn't find any on her. Yet, she found almost every single one of mine. I decided to just wing it, and charged towards Riley. But, she dodged my attack, and bit down on my shoulder blade. I whined as she clenched her jaw tighter on my skin.
"Alright Riley, you win this one, just let go of me."
"Sorry, can't here you over your cries." She then threw me to the ground and pinned me down. "Come on Savannah, you used to be tougher than this. And, you never gave up so easily."
"Yeah, but now, I'm telling you to get off." I yelled at her.
"Riley, get off of Savannah. She's had enough."
Riley groaned, but eventually got off of me. I got up and shook myself out. Man, that girl did some work on my shoulder.
"You two are free to go, but Savannah.. I expect you to improve next time."
"Yes, Coach." I said, and made my way out of the training center with Riley.
There weren't many students out today. It was the last day before classes started, so I assumed everyone was inside studying, reading, doing whatever they could to prepare themselves. There were a couple other wolves out by the training centers, but nobody we knew. Riley and I decided to sit in the shade under a huge oak tree.
"So" Riley started, "...You're not still mad at me for yesterday, are you?"
"Obviously I am, I'm just hiding it. Why would you even think about bringing Lucky over to that place?" I looked at her.
"Because it's my job? What would you know, you were fired last year."
"I wasn't fired!" I growled. "I quit on my own. What you guys do isn't right, and you know that."
"Yeah, well, in case you forgot," Riley stood up, and stretched herself out, "I don't go by 'what's right and wrong', Savannah."
I stood up too. "Listen, Riley, just because you got kicked out from your pack doesn't mean you should inflict pain on every other wolf who has a pack to go home to."
"That's funny, because last I remember, you thought it was alright to do so before you 'quit your job.'"
I was about to disagree with Riley's statement, but I saw Lucky trotting in from behind her. She too was in wolf form. She looked like she had just checked out the training center for Alpha's. They probably did some work on her too.
"Hey guys." Lucky greeted us, but Riley just glared at her, then walked off.
I shook my head and sighed. "Don't worry about her. What are you doing here?"
"I thought I could stop by and see you guys in action, but I guess I got caught up in my own training."
"Well, you didn't miss much, except for the part where Riley kicked my ass."
Lucky laughed at my comment. She sounded adorable when she chuckled. I couldn't help but to smile.
"Hey, come on. Let's go do something." I suggested. "Classes start soon, and I don't want to spend my last moment of freedom doing nothing."
