Riley's POV

I decided to head back to my room. I took my time though, I wasn't in any rush. I'd probably just take a nap or something to pass time.

On my way there, I saw the dean talking with an adult man. I took a closer look and realized that it was my father.

"Oh my freaking god, what is he doing here?" I mumbled to myself while I looked down at my shoes.

I tried to walk passed them in a fast pace, but unfortunately, they both noticed me.

"Riley." My dad called me. I groaned, then looked up to see him motioning me to come forth.

I slowly approached them, and waited for one of them to speak.

"Your dad came here to see if you were alright." The dean spoke first. "I told him about your scuffle not too long ago, and decided to stop by during his free time." His voice was shaky, and you could tell how nervous he was just standing near my dad.

"Great... Well, I'm fine so, bye."

"Not so fast." My dad smiled. "I understand that you've found your mate. Lucky Davis, I presume."

I growled slightly. Why would he mention Lucky? He's up to something, no doubt about it.

"Here," he shoved a box in front of my face from behind his back, "its for her."

"What's in the box, Dad?" I almost snarled.

The dean looked back an forth between us. He could feel the tension in the air. "Well, I think I'll leave you two to catch up on things. If you need me, I'll be in the main office." He said, then scurried off.

My dad shrugged. "Just a gift from me to the lucky girl who stole my daughter's heart."

I hesitated a bit, but took the box. "I'll give her your present the next time I see her."

"Excellent." My dad's smile grew. "I know that she'll love it."

"Listen, Dad, I don't know what game you're up to, but..."

"Riley, Riley, calm down." He held up his palms. "What? You don't trust your old man?"

"No, I don't, at least not when it comes to my mate."

My dad chuckled. "There's no need to fret. Just deliver the package to your girlfriend. I promise, it's to die for." He winked, then went on his way.

At those words, I became even more suspicious, but I decided that I'll allow Lucky to open the box.

With the box in hand, I started making my way to my room again. When I got there, I opened the door, and to my surprise, I saw that Lucky brought her mother up into our room.

I stood near the door, not sure of what to say when they spotted me. "Uh, am I interrupting something?"

"No," Lucky answered me, "actually, my mom wanted to talk to you."

I shut the door behind me and sat down on my bed, putting the box under my pillow. "Look, no offense, but if you just came here to insult me, then..."

"Trust me, Riley, I'm not like my husband." Lucky's mom smiled at me. Then she turned to her daughter, "Could you give us a few moments?"

Lucky nodded. Before she left us alone, she waltzed up to me and gave me a peck on the lips. "Try to behave, alright?"

"I can't make any promises." I whispered back. "But, I'll try."

Once Lucky left, there was an awkward silence. I sat there, twiddling my thumbs, and Lucky's mother looked around the place.

"So," she spoke first, "your room is very clean, I must say."
