Lucky's POV

It was a nice day out. It was almost evening, but the sun was still shining, and there wasn't a cloud in the sky.

I was sitting outside on campus in a clear grassy area. I was laying on my stomach, reading from a textbook. I was studying again. I knew college required lots of studying, especially for exams, but I didn't think I'd have to read up in my textbook almost everyday.

I shouldn't be surprised though. Even though I was a freshman, I was going to be alpha of my pack soon. I was scheduled for high ranked classes that would test my knowledge. I had to be one of the smartest and strongest around, otherwise, my position for alpha might be taken from me, and given to the next qualified person.

Since my brother has settled for being my beta, he didn't have to study as much. He was more focused on his sports scholarship, which is the main reason why he's attending this university. He still gets good grades though.

I continued reading from my math textbook. It was Calculus. I understood the material, but there was just so much work that I had to do, that I felt exhausted.

I rested my head directly on the textbook, treating it like a hard, uncomfortable pillow. I shut my eyes, and sighed.

After a few seconds, I felt pressure on my back. Then, something wet, yet soft, touched my neck. A divine scent travelled through my nostrils. It was a mix of coffee, and slight perfume.

I smiled, feeling Riley kiss my skin. She moved some of my hair, and kissed the back of my neck. She made it to one of my ears, and nibbled on the top of it.

"Riley..." I moaned out. She knew that was one of my favorite spots.

"Sorry, I couldn't help myself." She whispered huskily in my ear. Then, she kissed my cheek, and rolled off me.

I sat up, and so did she. We sat across from each other. I noticed that she held one cup in each hand.

Riley seemed to notice that I was staring at the two objects, so she handed one to me.

"It's a caramel cappuccino." She shrugged as she passed me the drink. "I know you love it, so I made a stop by the coffee shop to get you some."

"Thanks." I took a sip of the hot beverage. It had the perfect mix of bitterness and caramel. "What did you get?" I asked, motioning to the other drink she was holding.

"A mocaccino." Riley took a swing of her drink as well. She then looked down and saw my textbook still laying on the grass.

"Lucky," she chuckled, "enough studying. If you keep it up, you're going to fry your brain."

"I can't just stop." I said, and opened my textbook again, and set my coffee down. "I have to retain this stuff in my head."

"Okay, but don't stress yourself out like this." Riley closed the book. "It won't help you at all."

I glared at my girlfriend, who just smiled at me. She set down her chocolate drink, and crawled over to me. Riley gently pushed me down back on the ground.

"It won't hurt to take a small break, now would it?"

Without giving me a chance to respond, Riley lowered herself onto me, and kissed me. I found myself kissing her back, wrapping my hands around her neck, and pulling her more into me, if that was possible. Our kiss was slow at first, but became more heated in the upcoming seconds.

Riley's hands ran up and down my sides. She tilted her head slightly, and managed to slither her tongue in my mouth. I could taste the tiny bit of chocolate that lingered in her mouth, and she could probably taste the caramel on my tongue as well. By now, the drinks Riley bought were getting cold, but that wasn't our main concern right now.
