   ~Lexi's P.O.V~

"Lexi!! Stop!" I heard Angel shriek. Her voice broke into my mind, pulling me out of the state I was in.

I didn't know what I was doing.. I had blacked out. The only thing I remembered was punching Laura, just that once. I looked from my bewildered friend standing in the middle of the hall from me. I looked down at Laura, she looked scared, not even a sliver of anger was displayed upon her face. She just looked horrified. Her lip was busted, her eye was bruised and swollen. Had I really done this? I noticed I was ontop of her, in some sort of a wrestling position, pinning her down to hit her. My arm was raised above me, ready to strike again. I felt all the anger and aggression slowly fade away and lowered my arm, gently climbing off my enemy.

"Bloody hell.. I'm so sorry... I-I," I stuttered, horrified of my own actions. "I didn't know-" She flinched at my words. I looked down at my left hand, my dominate one that I had used to punch Laura, blood was smeared all over my knuckles. The horrid thing was it wasn't my own blood..

"I'm going to get Mrs. E!" Angel sputtered. She ran past Laura and I and down the stairwell within seconds. I couldn't find the courage to speak, so I just curled my legs up to my chest, and silently wept.

"Is... that," I heard a faint rasp of a whisper coming from in front of me. "All ya got?" Was this girl serious?! I slowly raised my head from my knees, and looked at her. She was so pathetic. She struggled to stand, but managed to do so. She spit out blood onto the carpet lining the hallway, ew. She gathered what strength she had and started jogging at me, a poor attempt to charge. Within seconds she tackled me to the ground, in the same the position I had had her in only moments before. She brought back a bawled up fist and punched me. It surely didn't feel peachy being on the other end. Salty tears rolled down my face as she continued to beat up on me. Punch after punch, I didn't scream, I didn't yell, I didn't do anything. I sat there, so bloody pathetically and took it. I couldn't find the words or courage to say anything to her. I had started this, I may as well let her end it.

"Stop!! Laura Whichmond stop!!!" I heard someone's voice shriek. I opened one of my closed eyes and saw Mrs. E standing in front of Angel. They both started toward us, running. They pulled Laura off me, restricting her to touch me anymore. I felt broken, utterly broken.

We sat in our room, Lexi and I were propped up on my bed, whilst Mrs. E sat across from us, on Lex's bed. Lexi held one bag of ice to her eye and another to her forehead. Her eye was black and swollen and her forehead had a tiny gash in it. I would not let Laura get away with this.. No way. Mrs. E Stared at Lexi sympathetically. Lexi explained to her that Laura had only started it, and Lexi was protecting herself. Finally, our teacher spoke up.

"Laura has a reputation to start fights," She took a deep breath. "I believe you. But if you girls start any more fights with her, I'll have no choice to expel you both." We both nodded our heads grimly. She stood up and smoothed out her shirt. "I'll see you both tomorrow. Make sure you get some sleep girls," She smiled motherly. "We have a surprise for all of you tomorrow." I gave her the best smile I could manage, and showed her out.

It was late by the time I cleaned myself up, dabbing my wounds with alcohol and wrapping them up. Angel was sliding into bed by the time I strolled out of the bathroom. I carefully made my way to my own bed and snuggled into my sheets, flinching when my sore face hit the pillow.

"Lex?" I heard angel whisper from her bed.

        "Yes, sugar plum?" I joked.

"Are you..Alright?" She sounded sorrowful. I didn't want her to worry about me.

"I could ask you the same." I could tell she was trying to recall the boat incident when she nodded her head solemnly. "We look like we were both bloody mugged!" I chuckled as she forced a small smile.

"Get some sleep, okay?" She said in her motherly tone. It was rare to hear that. She was always so risky and fun, to hear her sound responsible was unusual.

"Yes, mum." I joked. She laughed sarcastically, and I rolled over, facing the window. I closed my eyes and tried to numb out the pain coursing through all parts of my face. I soon drifted off into sleep and had dreams of what adventures the next day had yet to bring.
