The summer holidays were coming to an abrupt end and it was time for Ben and Nick to go start their first year of college.

"Hey babe what do you want for your birthday?" Nick asked his now blonde haired boyfriend. "How about a night in snuggled on the sofa with my perfect boyfriend? We can get a takeaway and some snacks and just watch films until we fall asleep." Ben said and nick kissed his boyfriend on the forehead. " that sounds great." He smiled.
It was Ben's 19th birthday, he had already opened his cards and presents. He had gotten a new phone, the iPhone 6s Plus in Gold. He had just finished setting it up when it rang "Who the fuck is calling me on an unknown number?" He asked himself as he answered the phone. "Hello Ben? It's Connor I just wanted to call and say happy birthday and I miss you." His ex boyfriend said like nothing had happened. "You miss me? YOU'RE THE ONE WHO FUCKING CHEATED ON ME AND HAD THE AUDACITY TO CALL ME A CHEATER. I FUCKING LOVED YOU. You mean nothing to me now please don't call me ever again." Ben screamed and hung up the phone. Nick came rushing through his bedroom door. "Are you okay? Who was you just shouting at?" Nick managed to squeeze out in between deep breaths. "Connor, he just called and said he missed me, the thing is he called off of an unknown number the cunt. I'm fine though babe don't worry. How about we go out and get the snacks for later?" Ben smiled.
They were both walking around the supermarket when they bumped into Tom. "Is this the day my past problems come to haunt me?" Ben joked. "Hey Tom, happy birthday" Ben said, Tom smiled and walked away.
On the drive home Nick asked Ben if they could go to lookout point, the highest point in Westland. They drove up and Nick got out of the car he gestured for Ben to follow him they stood at the front of the car. " Ben, you are the best thing that has ever happened to me. You're beautiful, talented and you put everyone else first. You used to be the quiet boy but now you're not afraid to speak up. I love you Benjamin and that is why I brought you up here, well you brought me but I asked you to." He got down on one knee. "This is my proposal to you. Benjamin Wilson will you do me the honour of being my husband? Will you marry me?" Nick asked nervously as he pulled out the 18 carat gold, diamond studded ring. "Yes, OMG of course I will." Nick slid the ring onto Ben's finger and stood up, the flew into each others arms and started crying. They both got back in the car and raced home. They burst through the door. "Mum. Dad. Look, I'm engaged Nick just asked me."
