_______________________She Can Be A Bitch: Chapter 4
-------------------------------------"That was quite a stunt you pulled back there." He chuckled lightly. He looked over at me now and then, before turning his attention back onto the road ahead of him.
"Mm." I hummed, still gazing out the window wordlessly.
Maybe my plan was stupid. Maybe it's just going to bring more bad luck towards me. I should've thought everything out like any normal person would. But I didn't.
"Hey, you ok?" I felt his hand land on my knee, slowly rubbing circles against it.
I cleared my throat, trying best to look away from his eyes, that were staring at me attentively. "Yeah. I'm fine." I reach for his hand, gently pushing it off my knee.
As much as I loved the fact he was touching me, I couldn't let anything happen.
I've never dated a guy, never really actually had a conversation with one, except Derek, and never have really been touched by one so affectionately.
His hand hover over my knee, hesitant about removing it, but he did anyways.
I watched him carefully, watching as his brows furrowed in confusion and in probably a bit of hurt.
"I'm sorry. I'm just having regrets on what I've done." I sighed, rubbing my temples.
"Don't." He frowned, eyeing my face carefully. "He deserved it. After everything he's done to you, he doesn't deserve respect." He sighed also, placing his forehead against the steering wheel. I look up, realizing we had arrived at my house. Like before, he took my hand, but this time I didn't stop him. "Juliet, you are a beautiful, strong little lady." He said, causing me to giggle. "And I don't want to see you get hurt, so...if I may ask. Can you stay away from him?"
"What?" I leaned back, my back pressed against the closed car door. "What do you mean stay away from him? As you can see, I can't really do that. He comes after me."
"I know, and I want you to be aware of the things he's capable of. Babe, he's not the time of guy for you to like, or love, or even be in love with." I frowned as he said that. "You seem like a nice girl. I want to be there to protect you. I want to get to know you better."
"Um," I look about, to see my mom watching us wide eyed through the kitchen window. "Yeah, yeah. Sure." I nodded, tightening my hold on his hands.
"Cool." He smirked slightly. "I'll see you at the park tomorrow then." Before I could get out from my side, he was already rushing over, and opening the door for me.
He's a gentleman too? Fuck, I need me some James right now.
"Thanks." I walk up my porch, turning to look back at him. "See you tomorrow." I waved, as he got into the car, and drove off.
Just as I walked in, mom was already there, staring enthusiastically. "Soooo...who's the boy?" She squeaked, grinning brightly.

I huffed out a loud breath, throwing my bag into the corner, before lunging myself onto the cool, soft pile of heaven.
My brain was messed up from the questioning from early. My mom had followed me through and out of the house, asking me questions about James. But after a good hour an half, I just told her he was a friend, and ran upstairs afterwards.
Ugh! I had homework. Fuck you, homework!
I glanced tiredly at the book bag in the corner. I couldn't get up, I just couldn't. But I had to, and that's what I hated so much about myself. No matter how much I didn't want to do homework, and think about saving it until the last minute, I still always end up finishing it early or turning it in before everyone else.
