Thursday Nights Lights: Chapter 6
---------------------------------Just like yesterday, the sun would rise and set without bothering to bring up so much as a breeze. Everyone was out on their porches or backyards having a barbecue and drinking their cold lemonade.
While everyone else was being stupid and not thinking straight due to the heat, I did what any normal teenage girl would do.
I stayed inside.
What's the point of going outside into a blazing oven just to hang out with friends, when you could've chosen the cool house with wifi, cabinets full of food, and a huge tv screen with unlimited amounts of movies to watch.
My parents were outside with Amy's parent and a few other friends. Being the smarties, wee stayed inside.
"So..." Amy smirked from the arm chair.
"So...what?" I wasn't playing dumb, I knew what she was asking. Of course Derek told her. I was just trying to find as many ways to steer away from the topic as much as possible.
She scoffed, shaking her head. "Was he a good kisser?"
I rolled my eyes, turning my attention back to the beautiful cartoon figure swinging through the jungle. I sigh, staring at the cartoon man. His long brown hair, tumbling down to his shoulders. His bare chest out there for the whole world to see. Reminded me so much of my brother, Ryan.
I miss him.
Never, ever will I ever get tired of the movie Tarzan, because Ryan's the one who got me into liking it. We would always run around the house playing Tarzan. And obviously he would be Tarzan, while I was one of his monkey friends. Those were the good days, but not he's all grown up, and in college.
Till this day, Amy still makes fun of me for it. Can't help the fact that I have a tinsy crush on the cartoon ape man. Not because he looks like my brother, no, that would just be plan weird.
"Hello? Earth to Julie." She snapped a finger in front of me. "Did you even hear what I said?"
I blinked, answering her question.
"Of course you weren't." She scoffed. "Derek texted and said he's coming...but..." She trailed off squirming in her seat.
"But? But what?" I asked suspiciously. What ever specific reason she was acting like this, it had to be a bad one. Nothing could make Amy squirm, except being under the watch of Derek's parents. "What is it-" My asking was cut short by the sound of the doorbell. "I'll go get it." I sighed, knowing she wasn't going to tell me.
"No, no, no. I'll get it." She sent me a smile, which was obviously all fake. "You sit down and enjoy your movie." She pushed me back down onto the couch. "Stay here." Taking slow steps backwards, she eyed me one last time before scurrying off to answer the door.
She was hiding something, and I wasn't going to just sit here and wait.
I hopped up onto my feet, power walking towards where Amy stood with the door wide open. "Amy, let them in. What's takin-" I freeze in my spot, staring into the cold eyes that met mine with a large smirk. "What the hell is he doing here?!"
After a few seconds of no one saying anything, Derek spoke up.
"Oops."

I stared at the empty chair next to the window, eyeing it dangerously, wanting that special someone to appear.
"Keep staring at that chair, ciliegia." A voice spoke from beside me. "Nothing's going to appear, if that's what you're hoping. Right now, you should be enjoying my company." I curled my hands into tight fists, wanting nothing more but bunch my hands through his soft perfect hair, before slamming his head against the coffee table.
