Taken: Chapter 17
-----------------------"You haven't given me an answer, ciliegia."
I knew exactly what he was talking about, but I ignored him.
I grounded my teeth together, as he began pulling my hair. It was really hard trying to study in this library, when the people in it can't seem to understand the meaning of staying quiet.
Mr. Jefferson, our Physics teacher, happen to not be here today, which was also the day that Miss. Tan wasn't here either. It was strange, really. Miss. Tan was always here, and the days she wasn't here was because she was sick, and believe me, she is never sick.
"Ciliegia." He whispered into my ear.
I closed my eyes trying to ignore him, and those words flowing in my head. Romeo had a thing for you.
What does even mean? She couldn't mean that he liked me. Right? Maybe she was talking about a gift. Yeah, maybe he had a thing, as in a present or gift for me. That made sense....oh, who the hell am I fooling?!
"Leave me alone." I swatted his hand away from my neck, which went right on back to its original place on my neck.
I stared ahead, furrowing my brows in confusion and surprise. Sitting in front of me was Derek, but this Derek looked completely out of it. Not the real Derek that came to school always clean and fresh, and neat. This Derek had messy, untidy hair. He had bags underneath his eyes, his clothes were looked as if they hadn't been ironed for a week, and the look of frustration in his face was just a big 'OH UH'.
He's probably still having hard times between him and Amy. I can see why he would be frustrated. But then, there's a part of me that felt as if that wasn't the real reason to his frustration. I'd have to ask Amy about that.
I was about to get back to my studying for our Physics test, when a junior at the nearby table, stood abruptly, causing his chair to fall over. He threw his textbook down onto the table and well...started cussing, like really started cussing.
"Fuck school! This stuff is bullshit!" He kicked his chair. "Dumbass teachers! Making us suffer for no damn reason!" He let out one last growl of irritation, before storming past a flabbergasted librarian.
"Amen to that." I heard Romeo say, while his group of friends snickered along with him. "Don't you agree, ciliegia? Wait, you wouldn't, because school is your whole life." He pulled my hair aside, running the tip of his nose down my neck, causing an embarrassing moan to slip from me. He chuckled softly, staring ahead at Derek who was still too fully frustrated to see what was happening before him.
I tilted my head away from him, trying to hide my red cheeks behind my hair, but then I realized my hair was short now, so there was no way of hiding that. My fellow classmates stared amusingly at us, some with confusion, probably wondering what I'm doing with Romeo, when I have a boyfriend.
I cleared my throat, and began picking up my things, but not before correcting him. "Y-yes, school is my life, but so is James." I snapped back at him, referring back to the conversation we had in his backyard. I left him there dumbfounded, dragging a groaning Derek after me.
