She was ready. She could do this. It would end.
She sank down into the abyss. Then she felt hands.
Her ears rang and she opened her eyes to white.
He took the mask from her face. She was free.
The clock struck midnight. The spell broke. She was alive.
The gavel rang across the room. The verdict clear. Innocent.
I gave her a long hug. I never would again.
He turned to her. "I'm sorry." Then he was gone.
Bang. She cried into her parents arms. It was raining.
