Ally POV
"WHAT?!" Chase and I scream in unison. Chase and I nearly jumping from our seats. Has our principal gone mad?! There is no way I am spending a whole week of detention with a self-absorbing jerk, who I might add is ought to get me, that goes by the name of Chase.
"Miss Diamond, Anderson sit down this instant. Would you like me to extend it?" He raises an eyebrow challenging us to protest but instead we sink into our chairs.
He stares at us through the rims of his glasses that sits on the bridge of his nose his eyes jumping between Chase and I. "Didn't think so." He says briefly laying back in his chair in triumph before leaning forward again and clasping his hands together in a serious manner.
"Right, so your detention will start tomorrow after school. No excuses. Miss Diamond, I will not notify your parents, as you are new. But if you decide to not to attend my" he pauses before saying, "after school activities, I will tell your parents what you are actually doing after school. Am I making myself clear?"
"Yes sir." I swallow nervously. If my parents were to find out that I had gotten detention, I'd probably never see sunlight again. By that I mean not allowed to go out with friends. (Not that I have any)
And what about Chase? Why doesn't he get a warning? Isn't he supposed to be scolded too? He wasn't the victim, that I can assure you.
"Good then." He smiles, leaning back in his chair resting his arms onto the arm rest. Principle Harold looked like a version of George Clooney but with a little more Grey patches on the sides of his head. He looks like a serious businessman. "You two are dismissed."
Chase who had been sitting beside me quietly let out a groan of relief before standing up and rushing for the door. I slowly stand up and head for the door.
"Don't forget detention tomorrow." Principle Harold calls. Chase mumbles a 'whatever' then disappears out the reception.
"Oh and Miss Diamond?" Principle Harold calls once more when I'm almost out the door.
I come to a halt and crane my neck to look at him. "Yes sir?"
"I hope this will be the first and last time I see you in my office." He says firmly whilst adjusting his glasses from slipping off. "Wouldn't want to cause us any issues, now would you Miss Diamond?"
I gulped, "No sir."
With that I walk--rush out the office and begin making my way back to the class even though our break wasn't over yet and the bell hadn't rung yet. To be honest, I didn't want to go back to the cafeteria where there are judgy teens going to be looking at me with scrutinising eyes.I rush down the hallway walking towards my new locker, realising I needed to get my books before the bell rings. I find my body come to a halt when I pass the notifications board. I don't know why but my eyes has the sudden urge to go look at it. It was as if it was a siren, luring me to a trap but I allow it to pull me towards it anyway.
I observe the plain white posters with gigantic black ink and pictures of unfamiliar faces on them. My eyes land on a specific poster with a dark haired girl staring back at me with a pearly toothed smile. My eyes squint to read the text that read just under her.
Name: Lucy Wendigo
Age:17
Description: Dark medium hair, brown eyes was last saw wearing a pink cardigan and denim jeans. She was last seen on the 17 August.
I feel my stomach sink when I realise what I had just read. I take a step back to get a holistic picture of the board. Different faces staring at me with a description of their own, with a Bold Big lettered word that ruined the entire photograph of them by saying 'MISSING'
