Ally POV
I stare at Chase for several moments before letting out a loud obnoxious laugh. "Y-you? T-train me?" I point to him mockingly then to myself. Chase's eyes narrow and his face turns into a scowl as he continues to watch me have a laughing fit.
Was he serious? He told me not even yesterday that he was going to make my life a living hell but now he wants to help me? Chase? Ha. Yeah right.
"What the hell is so funny?" He asks looking very disgruntled. I wipe away the tears with the pads of my fingers from laughing so hard before looking at him seriously.
"Chase, you of all people cannot train me." I roll my lips in my mouth to prevent myself from laughing again. I cross my arms and stare at him knowingly.
"What? Why not?!" He huffs, clearly unhappy with what I said. His furrowed eyebrows makes him look like a 10 year old boy whose ice cream had just been confiscated.
He may be a bad boy and all but seeing him like this right now was priceless. Maybe he isn't so scary after all..
"Because," I sigh and roll my eyes. "You couldn't even defend yourself when I punched you in the throat today, remember?"
My lips curl into a smirk and I lean into my right hip as I await for his response.
Before I know it, I'm being flipped onto my back causing temporary pain to shoot through my body when my back hits the grass. It all happened so fast that even my mind went hazy for a few seconds. My eyes adjust once the world stops spinning and I am staring up at a dark head boy whose eyes seemed to be glowing gold. Okay so maybe he was scary.
I squeeze my eyes shut and reopen them to see Chase's familiar brown orbs are back to normal again. Was I hallucinating? Again? What is wrong with me lately? I sure as hell hope I am not going to end up like Grandma Eleanor. Every time visit her, she tells me bogus stories about witches, ghosts, and werewolves. Then while telling me these...tales... she gives me a whole bunch of those disgusting Butterscotch sweets of hers. Blah.
I stare up at Chase in shock and he stares down at me with a smirk playing at his lips. He is holding himself up in a push up position and legs resting on either side of my hips. The position causes my heart to race and my body to freeze. "I was caught off guard, sunshine. I didn't think someone as..." He trails off to look me up and down causing my cheeks to ignite. "Weak as you would do something like that." He finishes off smugly. His words sting but I just narrow my eyes at him.
"I am not weak" I reply lowly before attempting to push him away with both hands to his chest but unfortunately his doesn't even budge. Great. Maybe I am weak. "Ugh!" I yell in frustration making Chase's stupid grin only widen further.
"I can make you stronger." He leans down to whisper in my ear huskily. Shivers run down from the top of my head all the way to the tips of my feet.
"What's in it for you?" I ask slowly, shifting my head to look at Chase properly. Chase shrugs his shoulders and pulls an unsure face.
I may have not known Chase for long but I know his type well enough to know that he doesn't just help people out, there is always a catch.
"Just seeing you fail miserably is enough pleasure." Chase winks and pulls me to my feet effortlessly. I drop my chin to my chest and give him a deadpanned look. "Really?"
Chase laughs and shakes his head. "F*ck no. You're going to owe me big time, sunshine."
I scoff and jolt my tongue on the inside of my cheek. See? I knew it. Always a catch. "And what might that be?"
