I woke up by the annoying voice of my little brother Austin. He was hopping on the end of my bed laughing and giggling. I hate him for things like that, but in that moment I couldn't be mad at all. His smile were so bright. I loved the color of his eyes, it was light green with brown and little golden sparks in it. I always wished we could change eyes. Mine are boring compared to his. Dumb dark brown. On cloudy days, you couldn't even see my pupil and it seems like it's just black.
"Oh god Austin what's wrong with you?" I asked with the most annoyed voice I had just because I knew he'd stop hopping this way.
He stopped very sudden and looked confused at me. "D-Did you forget my birthday?"
Oh shit, I actually forgot the birthday of my brother. I bet he was thinking I don't care for him. Everyone thinks it because I'm sometimes really harsh to him. But it isn't that way, I love him. Even if he can be very annoying and sometimes I just want to put him in the next bin, but he is still my brother! I rubbed my eyes and quickly searched for help in my room.
"Er no... I mean, of course not! I'm just tired, your fault if you wake me up... So uhm well, happy birthday you little pest" I said tousling trough his hair. "Are Mom and Dad already up?"
"No, today is thursday! Make me breakfast!" he protested.
"Go down and search some eggs and milk for scrambled eggs while I'll get ready." I instructed him.
He quickly went down, so quickly that I looked after him until he was downstairs because I was afraid he'd fall. I went back in my room with narrowed eyes, "looking" for my lenses. Without them, I couldn't see anything. I'm nearsighted since I was 5. It happened when Macy and I went outside to play in the snow. It was January and the first time I ever saw snow (or the first time I saw snow I could remember). Macy got a new sledge from her parents for christmas so she called me up asking if I wanted to go sleding with her. Everything went good and we had a lot of fun, until I thought I should sled infront of the tree. May warned me, but I've ever had my very own head and I never listened to anyone. And I still don't. So well, I couldn't stop soon enough so I crashed in the tree. Obviously, I violated my eye. To be honest I can't remember what excactly happened anymore.
Meanwhile, I dressed up and got my make-up done and I went down to my brother. Not to mean any harm, I went in the kitchen and found my brother. Crying with eggs on his head! "Oh my god what happened?" I ripped some kitchen paper and rushed to him.
"I-i wanted to, to take t-the eggs b-but..."
"But what?" I patted on his head trying to take away the eggshells and saw about any injuries from it.
"It were to high and then I fell on my head" he whined.
I lift him up and carried him to the bath. I looked at the door while I went down the hallway with him. Of course it was already late and I knew I'd come too late. I really thought about staying at home and saying I am sick. I washed his head, dried his tears and cooled his cheeks. Whenever he cried he got horrible headaches. "Everything's alright?" I asked him worried. He jumped up quickly and said "Noooooo I can not go to the kindergarden today!". I literally felt how my heart made a jump of happiness.
"So that means, we have to stay at home together right?" I asked him smiling. I knew he was okay, but if I have a reason to stay at home, wouldn't it be stupid if I wouldn't take it?
"Excactly! My head hurts so bad!" his eyes were sparkling and I bet even if I would want to go to school I would have stayed at home with it.
"Well if it is that way, I think we should stay at home today huh? Why don't you go and watch a bit TV and I go and buy something for lunch?"
