"So what's up?" Jake asked as I strapped on my seatbelt, "Why were you waiting for the bus?"
I slightly rolled my eyes, "Because Jack's being a dick and Genesis is in the hospital." I sigh.
"Well hopefully he'll get over whatever is making him that way. But what happened to Genesis?" He started to drive.
"She fell and now she's unconscious. It's all my fault. Jack was right I am stupid." I say while crying.
"Hey hey, it's not your fault." We pulled into the parking lot. "Don't cry. Come here." He embraced me in a hug, "Look shit happens and you can't really control it. I mean, now Genesis knows to never jump on the bed again."
I look up at him and chuckle, "True." I pull away and wipe my face.
"Hey, stay strong for Genesis." He smiled at me.
"Thanks, I'll try." I mumble.
He looked at me with a sympathetic smile and I just smiled back at him. It went silent and none of us said anything.
I felt him start to lean forward towards me and I just sat there frozen. His lips brushed against mine and without thinking I kissed him.
I freaking kissed him. And he kissed me back. This was not fucking happening. I pulled away.
"Jake..." I started off.
"Lacey I-I shouldn't have done that-"
"I have to go." I said quickly and quickly walked into the hospital. I just kissed my friend's husband. He's like 30. What the hell is wrong with me?
"Look we can talk about this Lacey." Jake caught up to me.
"There's nothing to talk about it already happened." I whispered loudly.
I walk up to the front desk and put on a fake smile, "My daughter Genesis Hathaway just came in here can I see her?" I ask impatiently. The lady started typing in her computer obnoxiously loud then looked at me, "I'm sorry ma'am but the doctors are evaluating her right now, I'll let you know when you can see her. But you can take a seat with your friend over there." She pointed to Jack sitting on the other side by himself. He looked so stressed out. He was tapping his foot like crazy, he always did that when he was either pissed off or nervous. I walk over to him with Jake behind me.
I sit down next to him, "Hi." I say bluntly.
He just glared at me and looked down at the floor.
"C'mon Jack talk to me, I know we had an argument but that doesn't mean you can't talk to me."
"I'll leave you too alone." Jake whispered and left awkwardly.
"What the hell is he doing here?" Jack spoke up.
"He drove me?" I answered.
"You could've just rode with me." He rolled his eyes.
"Well you were being a dick and he just so happened to be there."
"Do you really trust him? You can't be so naive Lacey. He's Sam's brother." He slightly yelled.
"Can you shut up?! He could hear you." He whisper loudly.
"I don't give a fuck if he can hear me!" Jack yelled and everyone literally looked at us.
"We're in public Jack. Stop being so rude." I argue back.
"Fine then let's go to a private area!" He raised his voice. He grabbed my hand and brought us into the car.
"Why are you being so complicated! At this time! Our daughter is in the hospital Jack!" I say while shutting the car door.
"Look Lacey it just bothers me that you let that Jake guy drive you around!"
"I don't see what the big deal is! Why are you so overprotective?!"
"Because I can't loose you again Lacey!" I saw a tear go down his face. "I almost lost you, twice. It's not going to happen again babe. And now Genesis isn't well, I don't want anyone else but you around me."
"I love you Jack." I say.
"I love you so much more." He kissed me passionately. There had been so much stress because of the wedding and now that Genesis isn't well it just throws things off.
"We should go back in." I say and we both get out and go back in the hospital.
"Ma'am, you can see your daughter now. She's in room 4120, 4th floor East Side."
"Okay thank you." Jack and I practically run to the elevators.
"Come on, come on." Jack says impatiently while repeatedly pressing the button. It finally opened and we went up.
"Where the hell are we going?!" Jack slightly yelled.
"Come on it's this way." I point towards the East side and we run down the hall.
"It's here!" I say and almost knock the door down. I see Genesis laying in the bed. She looked perfectly normal, but her eyes were closed.
"Oh my god." I started crying in Jack's chest.
"Hello, I'm Dr. Anderson." A tall lady with short blonde hair walked in and shook our hands.
"Hi I'm Genesis' father, is she going to be okay?" Jack asked since I could barely talk.
"She has a small concussion, but she'll be fine. We want to keep her for two days just to be sure."
"Two days?" Jack trembled.
"It's all for safety matters. But I'm sure she'll be okay so there's not a lot worry about. But she does have to wear a neck brace for about a week to protect her head." I felt a big weight lift off my shoulders.
"What time does visiting hours end?" I ask while wiping my tears.
"It ends at 8, but since you're her parents you can really come by anytime."
"Okay thank you." I say.
"You're welcome." I look down and see Genesis start to move around.
"Genesis?" I whisper while brushing my fingers on her tiny hands.
"M-mommy?" She looked up at me. I smiled.
"Hi babygirl." I smile at her feeling a tear go diwn my face.
"Mommy who is that boy with you?" Genesis pointed and I turn around and I realize that she's pointing at Jack.
"Him? That's your dad sweetie." I say confused.
"No he's not. I don't have a daddy remember mommy?" me and Jack look at eachother.
"Genesis, you don't remember me?" Jack asked getting closer to her.
She slowly shook her head no and held onto my arm.Did she really just loose her memory?
