Chapter 17

We stayed with Genesis and tried to refresh her memory and she is literally clueless. The doctor says it'll last about three days and her memory will slowly come back. I hope she's right because our wedding is coming up and I can't have anything else to worry about. Jack and I were thinking about postponing the wedding but we already spent a shit load of money on the venue and a bunch of other stuff. So now we just have to wait and see. We left the hospital around midnight, we really wanted to spend the night but both of us weren't able to stay in the room. So I insisted in staying but Jack didn't want me to be by myself. So we just both left.
"She doesn't remember what has happened these past few months. She doesn't even recognize her own dad it's crazy." I say to Jake on the phone while eating my ice cream.
"That's crazy. Who would think one fall could screw up someone's memory?" Jake chuckled in the phone.
"Who are you talking to you?" Jack asked while walking out of the bathroom.
"Jake" I mouth to him. He just rolled his eyes and laid down next to me.
"I have to go I'll see you at the rehearsal dinner." I say and hang up.
Jack just looked at me and rolled his eyes.
"What?" I ask full of irritation.
"You know I don't like him." He said with his arms crossed.
"You like Jake what are you talking about?" I chuckle, "Is someone jealous?" I smirk.
"I'm not jealous shut up." Jack said while blushing.
I peck his cheek, "You're so jealous."
"Well yeah I'm sorta jealous that my hot fiance is talking to some hot doctor." Jack whined.
"Did you just call Jake hot?!" I yell and fall off the bed full of laughter.
"This stays between us." Jack says trying to act tough.
"Mhmm." I say while taking out my phone.
"Who are you texting?!" Jack asks while trying to take my phone out of my hand.
"JILL." I say trying to unlock my phone. We're literally wresting on the bed and he's tickling the shit out of me.
"LACEY STOP." Jack yells full of laughter.
"And send." I smirk.
"You little shit." I saw Jack's phone light up. It was a message from Jill. I opened up his phone and read the message out loud.
"So you're interested in Jake? I gotchu ;)"
I start laughing like crazy and Jack looks humored but pissed at the same time.
"Fuck you Lacey." He says while laughing.
"You know you love me. Now help me pick out what to wear for the rehearsal dinner." I say while running to my closest and pulling out my dresses. It's like two-am and I'm about to put on a fashion show.
I put on the first dress and it's pretty tight and ruby red with rhinestones on the chest area.
"I like it." Jack winked.
"I look like a whore."
Next dress:
It was dark pink and short. The bottom was look and it was strapless. It had black rhinestones on the chest area.
"That's actually really cute on you." Jack said while twirling me around.
"Thanks but I'm not really feeling it." I say while looking in the mirror.
"Here babe try this one."
This one was a blue high-low strapless dress. It was brand new, I remember Jill bought it and never used it so she just gave it to me.
I tried it on, I look in the mirror and spun around several times. I walk out and Jack's mouth dropped.
"Damn lil mama." he said loudly.
I just laugh and blush really hard.
"You look beautiful. You're definitely wearing this."
I smile, "Do you really like it?" I ask while blushing.
"I love it. You look hot. Even with the baby bump." He poked my stomach and I giggled.
"We should get to bed. We need to see Genesis and the rehearsal dinner is at 4pm." I change into some shorts and a tank top and crawl into Jack's arms. I fell asleep to him caressing my cheek.

"Jack wake up you shit head." I said for the 20th time.
"5 more minutes Lacey." He said irritated.
"You said that 5 minutes ago." I smirk. I climb on top of Jack and leave small kisses all over his face.
"What do you want?" He slightly yelled.
"I want to take you out for breakfast. My treat." I say while kissing his cheek and getting off of him.
"Where were you planning on going?" Jack asks now fully awake.
"IHop." I say with a smirk since I know Jack loves their pancakes.
He literally jumped into the shower and was ready within 12 minutes.
We got to IHop and the waiter seats us.
"This is nice. Just the two of us." Jack says while holding onto my hand.
"Well look who it is." I look over and see Tiana walking over towards us. I hated her so much.
"Hey Tiana." Jack said with a fake smile.
"Hi Lacey." She gave me a devious smile.
"Hi." I say while rolling my eyes.
"Well someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed" she said while looking at Jack.
"Excuse me?" I slightly raise my voice.
Jack gave me a look and kept on whispering "Lacey don't."
"Is it just me or are you getting a little fat?" She snorted.
"It's called being pregnant, but you wouldn't know that because you don't have a baby!"
It went silent and everyone looked at us.
"You're such a bitch. You know what I've been through, that I couldn't have my baby and you have the audacity to say that to me Lacey? That was pretty low, even for you."
"Just leave Tiana I'm just trying to enjoy a meal with my fiance." I say while crossing my arms.
"Whatever. Bye Jack." Tiana scoffed while walking out.
I just rolled my eyes.
"She's ridiculous." I say to Jack.
"Don't let her get to you."

We finish eating and head to the hospital to see Genesis.
"Hi mommy!" She was awake and watching t.v. on the mini touch screen tablet they had attached to the bed.
"Hi baby!" I say while hugging her.
"Mommy, who is he?" Genesis pointed to Jack and I sighed. She still doesn't have her memory back and it's killing me.
"That's your dad. His name is Jack, I know you don't remember him but you will soon sweetie."
"Uhm okay." She mumbled while sipping her orange juice.
"Hi Genesis. Oh I didn't know you were awake and that you had company!" Dr. Anderson said while walking in.
"Okay so I have good news folks! Genesis can come home tomorrow morning! We just have to run a few tests tonight to secure that she's fine and she should be all set to go home."
"But what about her memory?" Jack asked anxiously.
"Have her rest and don't let her run around too much. Just let her do low impact things around the house and I'm positive she'll have her memory back within 2 days.
"Okay thank you doctor!" I say cheerfully.
