Chapter 3

I grabbed my backpack and started to empty out my closet I through everything in, some sneakers, shirts, shorts, leggings, and everything else I need. I was not into makeup like some people. I like the way I look, I didn't care what people thought of me as long as I liked it. Once I was finished packing I threw my backpack on and trudged down stairs totally forgetting my mom was on a date.

That's when I noticed my mom and her boyfriend. She looked at me and asked, "what's wrong honey?" Then it hit me like a truck that was carrying 2 tons, "nothing, nothing is wrong... you know... except that you are dating another guy after dad left us!" "Honey, you have to move on, it's been 12 years!" "Ahhh!", I yelled frustrated. I ran. All I could do is run. I was mad at my mom that she could just move on just like that.

I signaled the next taxi that came my way. I gave him some of the money my dad gave me. The driver drove me to the airport. The trip took a good 45 minutes. I made my way into the airport I got out my ticket my dad gave me, I walked over to the tine at Southwest airline. I heard a growl behind me, so I turned around and I saw the worst thing that could have happened.

In front of me was a griffin. I pulled out my daggers, while circling the griffin. I didn't know what humans saw but I didn't care, all I knew was either I was going to have to kill it or the griffin with kill me. I looked for his week spots I found one under the wings and on his stomach. I didn't know what to do. I had a feeling in the bottom of my stomach to let my anger take control, in a matter of minutes I was standing over the griffin that I so proudly defeated. I got some weird glares from the people around my so I quickly grabbed a latte. I boarded the plane and got settled for the long trip ahead.
