Chapter 11

I swam up to the two front doors. They were made of thick wood with gold vines snaking around the front while the two vines meet at the door nobs. From the outside the palace looked old like it had many secrets and stories hidden underneath the ancient walls.

I knocked, before I could knock again a beautiful lady opened it. Or at least I thought she was a human.

When I looked down I realized how wrong I was. Instead of legs this woman had a tail.

I can officially say mermaids are real now.

She welcomed me in with a warm embrace. Even though she was friendly and welcoming, I could tell something was off. By looking in her eyes I could tell she was trying to hide something and she was doing a pretty good job of it, but it was no match for me. She was also swishing her tail faster and faster and flinching when I made hand motions. But in no less then a minute all traces of what happened a second before were gone.

I am going to keep an eye on her.

I swam inside looking around, it was not old fashioned like how it looked from outside. It looked like it was just redone, with all the new appliances I could call this a modern home.

The lady introduced herself to me, " hi I'm Samantha".

I replied by telling her my name but she told me that everyone around here knew who I was.

I just shrugged at the last comment. I was already getting used to the popularity I just hope I don't become a snotty brat.

There was a question that was bugging me so much I basically just blurted it out, "can I be a mermaid too?"

"Yes, all you have to do is imagine yourself with a tail.",  Samantha replied simply.

Ok that's easy enough, so I stopped swimming closed my eyes and imagined myself with a tail.

When I opened my eyes again Samantha was gasping and was swimming in front of me shocked.

" what?", I asked confused.

All she did was point down to were my legs were but now were replaced with a shimmery golden tail.

Finally when she could talk again she said, " the only other person who has that colored tail is Poseidon himself".

That's my que I smirked and looked back at her and replied " it must run in the family then".

Then I turned around and started to swim off in the direction of the throne room when I was stopped by...
