The sun shined through the window in the morning. The light woke me up from my slumber as I felt someone's arm around me. I opened my eyes, my surroundings unfamiliar. This was his room. Until he was fourteen. He told me about his life here in Scotland. It's lot more peaceful than America, that's for sure. He told me about his first girlfriend, his first kiss and everything. It felt nice to finally be able to see this with my own eyes. The way his life used to be before he came to America. My back was pressed against his chest and I could feel his soft heartbeat, his breathing against the back of my neck as I came to my senses. Hold up. Why the hell was he holding me?
I felt someone looking at us so my eyes made their way to the door and I saw Julia looking at us with a smile on her face.
"Good morning, darling." She greeted as I offered her a small smile. "I came to wake you two up for breakfast but you're already awake so we'll wait for you." She told me.
"We'll come down soon. Thank you." I said, smiling a little. She left the room and I rested my head back on the pillow. I turned in his arms and shook him so that he would wake up. "A, wake up." I spoke as I shook his arm. His eyes peeled open and he smiled at me.
"Good morning." His raspy morning voice sounded through the room as the small smile on his face got bigger.
"Morning. Your family is waiting for us for breakfast." I told him, my hand resting on his arm. "So get up and put some clothes on so we can go." I said, taking his arm off of me and getting up. I could feel his eyes on me from where he laid on the bed. I was getting my clothes so I could get ready and he was just there staring. "What?" I asked stopping what I was doing to look at him. He smiled at me before standing up.
"Nothing, Swifty." He said before walking into the bathroom. He confused me at times, to be honest. I heard the shower turning on.
"Can you cover yourself? I need to pee." I giggled, knocking on the bathroom door.
"Come in." I heard him say and I opened the door.
"Dude, I told you to cover yourself." I groaned, closing my eyes. Did this dude like me looking at him when he was naked? Because it sure seems like it. "You're such an asshole." I muttered, trying to find the toilet with my eyes closed as he laughed.
"It's fine, T, I'm facing the wall now." I opened one eye to check and was relieved that he was telling the truth. "By the way, we're going out today." He told me.
"Where?" I questioned.
"I'm taking you to the park I used to go to all the time. I though we could have some time away from here." He explained as I flushed down the toilet.
"Sounds good." I said moving towards the door. "Hurry up. I told your mom we wouldn't take long." I warned him before closing the door.
Soon we were both ready so we walked down the stairs. Everyone was already sitting on the kitchen table.
"Good morning, lovebirds." Charlotte greeted us with a smile. We smiled back at her as we sat down. "Did you two sleep well?"
"Yep. We had a good night of sleep." Adam replied, emphasizing the sleep part as Charlotte seemed to be insinuating that something else had happened other than sleep. Ew, I want to throw up. He's attractive and all but as I've said before, it's weird to think about him like that. But he is attractive.
"Bruce called, he's coming over tomorrow." Julia told us and I looked at Adam as he tensed up at the mention of his brother. I grabbed his hand, holding it tightly into mine.
"Why?" He asked, quietly as Julia set the food down.
"Because he misses us and I want to see my grandson." She answered, sitting down on a chair next to her husband. "I don't want any fights between the two of you. I don't know what happened but we're a family." She warned Adam and he sighed.
