I woke up to the feeling of a warm body pressed against me. The thin sheets tangled around us as I felt his arm on my waist. The bright sun was shining through the window, making me open my eyes, slowly as I woke up. I smiled to myself when I remembered what had happened the night before. I turned around in his arms so I was facing him. He was still asleep, a peaceful expression graced his face. He looked so young, innocent even. Although last night was anything but innocent. My mind travelled back to how he felt on me. How his lips were pressed against mine, his hand intertwined with mine as we moved together as one.My hand moved to his face, carefully as I tried not to wake him. Somehow my feeling for him got deeper because of last night. Things were more intimate, it was a deeper connection between us, one I had never felt with anyone else. With a small smile on my face, I watched as he stirred. His green eyes opening up as a small smile made its way to his lips.
"Am I really that pretty to stare at?" He smirked at me and I rolled my eyes.
"You're okay I guess." I shrugged giggling. My laughter died down as he smiled at me, his arm still on my waist. "Good morning." I smiled.
"Good morning, baby." He leaned forward to kiss my lips. "You hungry?" He asked and I nodded my head. He stood up, putting on his boxers before smiling at me. "I'm making you breakfast like I always do." He said, as I got out of bed and put on his shirt from the night before because it was the closest thing to me and it was comfy. He started walking out of the room and I jumped on his back. "What are you, T? A freaking monkey or something? " He laughed, regaining his balance as I wrapped my arms around his neck, kissing his cheek, as he grabbed the back of my thighs and took us to the kitchen.
"Nah, I'm too tall to be a monkey." I giggled. He put me down on the counter and I sat there watching as he moved around the kitchen finding the ingredients he needed to make us breakfast.
"Do pancakes sound good?" He questioned, glancing at me quickly and I nodded my head, looking at him up and down. His shirtless body made me feel some sort of way. It was hard to believe that I had all that for myself. I was watching as he made the pancakes, in silence. "You know, baby, if you stare for so long your eyes might fall off?" He smirked.
"Shut up, you idiot." I rolled my eyes, trying to stop myself from smiling at him. The silence returned back to the room as he made the food. When I spoke, my voice was filled with joy, fulfillment and happiness that I only had when I was with him. "Last night was amazing."
"Which part?" He smirked, walking to me and standing between my legs, his hands on my hips as he left what he was doing behind.
"All of it but the last part?" I answered, placing my hands on both sides of his face. "That was one for the books, darling." I murmured, pulling him closer to me. Our lips were close to touching now with our foreheads pressed against one another.
"You think?" He questioned, his breathing heavier as his lips were almost on my mine. Instead of responding I kissed his lips. Our bodies against one another, his arms pulling me closer to him as I smiled into the kiss. My fingers tangled with his short dirty blonde hair as our lips moved in sync. "Shit, the pancakes!" He pulled away and we looked at the stove and saw our pancakes were burned. "You'll be the death of me, T, I swear." We laughed. "Let's just go out for breakfast." He suggested and I agreed.
We got dressed and soon we were walking down the street to our favorite place to have breakfast. The lady there was so nice and she always treated us so well and we loved going there. We walked in there and instantly the smell of pancakes made me crave them. Mary, the lady from the café, welcomed us with a warm smile.
"Welcome back, sweethearts." She told us and we smiled at her. "You two haven't been here in a long time." She hugged me and Adam before we all walked to our usual table.
"Yeah, we were in Scotland." I said, sitting down on the table.
"And it seems like something changed, huh?" The dark haired lady raised an eyebrow looking between the both of us as I blushed, looking at my boyfriend. Adam grinned at her, nodding his head. She probably saw us walking in with our hands intertwined. "Well, I'm happy for you, kids. It was about time." She laughed. "The usual for you?" She asked.
"Yes, please." Adam told her, smiling.
"Coming right up." She left us and I looked at Adam, giggling to myself.
"Did everyone want us together?" I shook my head and he looked up at me.
"I guess they did." He smiled, taking my hand in his on top of the table. "You know? I'm glad we are together."
"So am I." Mary arrived with our order after a few moments of silence. Once we ate it, we paid and stood up from our table to leave but then I saw someone I wished I hadn't.
Adam noticed I was looking at something intently do he followed my eyes to where they were looking and immediately took hold of my hand. "Don't worry. Let's just go, baby." He smiled softly.
"Taylor!" His voice called out and inhaled deeply as I turned around to face the guy who hurt me the most. Jake.
We walked faster, trying to get out of there as soon as possible.
"Wait!" He ran up to us, standing in front of us with a smile on his face. "It's nice to see you again." I hadn't seen Jake in almost two years, the last I heard of him was that he was out of the country which I was glad about.
"I wish I could say the same." I said, bitterly.
"Listen, I'm really sorry for everything I put you through and I know I was wrong but I just wanted to tell you that I know I was jerk and I don't deserve anything from you, I'd just like to have your forgiveness." He told me, a small smile on his face. "I don't want to get you back or anything, I'd just like to have my conscience clear." He added and I looked at Adam, finding everything hard to believe in. "I knew you two would be together. I'm happy for you." He said, looking down at our intertwined hands.
"Honey, we're going to be late!" A voice said from behind us. A huge smile grew on Jake's face when he heard it.
"That's my wife. We have a baby appointment." He laughed. "I'm coming in a second." He said to her. "Will you forgive me, please?" He asked again, his eyes on mine.
"Yeah, I will." I nodded my head, still a little shocked because of this conversation. He smiled at me before walking to his wife. "Jake?" I called out and he turned around. "Good luck with everything." I said before turning to Adam and he laughed. "He's married!" I said, stunned.
"And he's having a baby." He laughed and I joined him as we walked out of the café. "I guess we'll never have to deal with him again." He shrugged.
Later that day, I remembered another thing that happened last night. Scott Borchetta had asked me to call him. Actually Adam and I googled him before I called him and it turned out his label was still very new, he started it about four months ago and he hadn't really signed anyone, at least that was what was on the internet.
"Hello? It's Taylor. The girl from last night." I said when he picked up the phone.
"Ah! Taylor, I was waiting for your call." He told me, excitedly. "So, since you called, I was wondering if maybe you would come to my office. I'll send you address."
"Yeah, that'd be great but what exactly for?" I questioned.
"Here's the thing. I want to sign you but we still need to test you a little bit. See your full potential because it's impossible to see that from a karaoke night at a bar. From what I've seen, you're amazing but I'd like to know more." He explained. I was getting so excited about this.
"I understand. When do you want me come over?" I asked.
"If you're free at four today, that would be great." He informed me.
"I'll be there." I smiled to myself. If it really did work out then my dreams would finally come true. I was beyond ecstatic.
