Two years later...

"Okay, we're good. Let's go." I smiled at Karlie and we stepped out of my hotel room in London. I was here for the Brit Awards. I was nominated because of my new album, 1989 and I wanted to be here for my British fans and besides the Brits are a fun show.

We drove to the O2 arena in London and I did the red carpet and met a few fans before going to our table. When we got there we found Ellie with her boyfriend, Dougie. Ellie and I became fast friends after we met on that plane. She was one of my best friends now.

"Ellie!" I called out, giving her a hug.

"Swifty!" She grinned at me. "Aren't you opening the show?" She questioned.

"Yes and I need to get going." I giggled, hugging her and Dougie before walking to the backstage area of the arena and into my dressing room.

"Taylor, you're on in five." I heard a voice call out. I was already dressed in my outfit and my make up and hair were done so now all i needed to do was perform. I walked out of the room and made my way to the stage to where I was supposed to be. I started performing my hit single 'Blank Space', moving around the stage. I loved performing, it was amazing. Halfway through the performance, one set of eyes caught my attention but I kept going, reminding myself it would be impossible for him to be here. His eyes locked with him as I performed and I'd recognize those eyes anywhere. Adam. Why was he here?

I finished my performance and left the stage to go and change. I entered my dressing room to find Karlie sitting on the couch.

"Why is Adam here?" I asked as soon as I walked in.

"Adam? What do you mean?" She questioned, furrowing her eyebrows as I sighed.

"I saw him during my performance, Karls. He's here." She gulped, looking away from me. "What is it?"

"Not my place to tell you." She shook her head and stood up. "I'll wait for you at our table." She left the room leaving me wondering what the hell was going on. I changed quickly and walked to our table, spitting Ellie talking to a tall guy.

"Hey guys." I smiled.

"Tay, there's someone I want you to meet." Ellie grabbed my arm, grinning at me then dragging me to the tall dude she was talking to.

I held my breath when I noticed who it was. That was Adam. I hadn't told Ellie about him. I left him behind when I left for tour. He said he didn't belong in my world so I didn't make him part of it.

"So this is the guy who I've been working with. You know, the DJ?" She smiled. "This is Calvin Harris." We stared at each other for a while in silence. "Calvin, this is Taylor."

"Can we talk alone, please?" He asked Ellie who was caught by surprise when he asked that.

"Do you know each other or something?" She wondered.

"We'll tell you later." We said at the same time. I glanced at him with a small smile on my face. It had been so long since I last saw him.

"But can we talk, please?" He looked me in the eye, almost as if he was begging me. I nodded my head.

"We can go to my dressing room." I suggested and he agreed so we walked in silence through the halls of the arena before getting into the dressing room. "Calvin Harris, huh?" I spoke up, when we sat down on the couch.

"It's a stage name." He responded, clearing his throat.

"It's not too much anymore, is it?" I said, coldly and he sighed.

"Taylor." He looked at me, as my eyes were fixated on him. "Look, I think I made a mistake." He said.

"Is that why you're here?" I questioned. "Did you make a mistake by leaving me? Is that it? Because if it is then maybe you're a little too late." I huffed, shaking my head.

"No. My mistake was thinking you'd be fine without me." He told me. "I heard the album." I had sent him a copy of the album. I sent it through Charlie. The album was about him and I thought he should hear it. The tracks on 1989 were a little different than my first album. It was like I was reflecting on my relationship with him. Some of them were about finding myself after losing him. All that pain and suffering of having lost my best friend. It was hard but after surrounding myself with friends, I was happy, maybe not as happy as I once was but I was getting there. "If we didn't break up you wouldn't be who you are today. I don't regret us breaking up because you seem to be happier than you would ever be with me, I regret causing pain." I gulped, feeling myself getting too vulnerable.

"Us breaking up is what caused the pain, you idiot. If you hadn't made the decision to end it, we'd probably be married by now." I cleared my throat. "Fuck you if you think you can come here and say you made a mistake after three years." I spit and he took a deep breath. "We were happy. I was happy, happier than ever and you decided that you didn't belong in my world so you shut me out."

"I didn't know what else to do!" He raised his voice. "I'm a stupid guy. I get it, okay? But look at that, you're the biggest superstar on the planet. Maybe it happened for a reason so we could see each other again."

"You're so stupid sometimes, I swear I don't even know what to say." I rolled my eyes. "Do you have any idea of what you put me through? Did it never occur to you that I love you more than anything? Or did you just need an excuse to break up with me?"

"An excuse to break up with you? Jesus, Taylor, the only reason I did it was because I was a weak guy, because your career happened so fast I couldn't even catch up. So yeah it became too much for me. It hurt. It hurt I wasn't strong to be with you." He sighed. "But you, you kept going. You went tour, you showed the world what I had always known. That you're brilliant. I don't deserve you. I don't deserve your forgiveness. I'm an idiot. I lost the one thing I had always wanted because I was weak and I couldn't handle it. But I want you in my life. I'm a selfish bastard but that's the truth, I want you in my life."

"No you don't. If you couldn't handle it three years ago, you can't handle it now. It's worse. There's lies and rumors. Cameras everywhere, people watching. Trust me, you don't want that." I said firmly and he took a step closer to me.

"One chance. That's all I want. I missed you. And if rumors and cameras is the price to pay to have you in my life so be it." His figure towered over me, a small smile on his face.

"We can't just go back to what we were." I wiped away a tear that had fallen down my cheek.

"No, we can't. So we're starting over." I looked at him, confused. "Would you like to go on a date with me, Taylor Swift?" He smirked making me giggle.

"You know what? No." His face fell and I laughed. "I'm kidding. I just want a kiss first." I pressed my lips against the ones I hadn't kissed in over three years and butterflies erupted in my stomach.

"Don't you think we're moving too fast?" He pulled away, stroking my cheek.

"My world moves too fast, it's your chance to catch up." He smiled at me before joining our lips together again. I never thought this would happen again, not even in my wildest dreams but second chances do happen and this is mine so I'm taking it.
