"What the heck?!"

Paige Rivera is in Ms. Galloway's literature class, just across from Blade Carnauba's desk. Like every other time in class with him, Paige was hit by a paper ball. Being the good student she is, she had picked up the paper that had hit her. That didn't last long as she took aim and threw it back at Blade's head, laughing as it bounces off onto the floor. A small smile creeps on his lips but quickly disappearing, him picking it back up.

*Paige's POV*

I didn't realize I was still staring into his eyes. His beautiful, green eyes.

"What do you want, woman?", he spits at me.

"Shut up, noob", I respond.

My stomach fluttered, as it always does, when I spoke to him. You see, I've always had a little crush on him. I first met him in elementary school in our little saturday program. We never really talked. Now, in our Freshmen year of high school, we share two classes and annoy each other constantly. I even went to the lengths of becoming friends with his step-sister Trista. Nobody really likes her...

"Paige, why don't you just make out with your Romeo already?", Stephanie whispered. She knows about my little Blade fling. A blush creeps upon my my cheeks as I giggle. Luckily, my cheeks hide it a bit too well for anyone to notice the heat rising in them.

"Oh my glob, Steph! If only. If only", I whisper as we both laugh quietly. Blade's best friend Michiah, who sits behind me, slipped a paper ball into my hair. I, unknowing of the paper ball, jolted my head to the side, making it fly down the aisle. Everbody laughs as I try to figure out how it got there.

"Alright class! Where did we leave off in Romeo and Juliet last time?", asked Ms. Galloway.

"Act III, Scene V", quickly says the class know-it-all, Aliyah.

"Alright. Who wants to be Juliet?"

I quickly raise my hand, along with about five other girls, way smarter than me. This isn't a normal thing for me. I never raise my hand. On this rare occasion, the teacher chooses me. I grin, satisfied, and get up to the front of the class with my textbook.

"Who would like to be Romeo?"

No hands were lifted. Am I that ugly or are they just lazy? Or could it be both? Ok this is depressing. Then everyone suddenly began volunteering people, Blade being one of them.
