Step Five: Marriage

Once the ring has been given to your Mate, you have to Court for three more months until you can do this step.

Marriage- Skin-Changer marriage is very simple (unless you are a Saber Cat Skin-Changer, but we'll get to that in a bit). When Skin-Changers marry they must have the ceremony in the woods and only the families of both Skin-Changers are to be there with the couple. When they are standing in front of a chosen tree the fathers of both sides will come forth and present daggers.

The father of the Male Skin-Changer will give his dagger to his son and the father of the Female Skin-Changer will give his dagger to his daughter. The Male will cut the palm of both his hands and the Female will do the same, they will then both of their palms to their Mate's palms with the cuts lining up.

This is called Blood Binding.

When they have their palms together they must both say at the same time:"I [full name] take you, [Mate's full name], as my Mate and Lover. I will protect you as you will me for as long as I breathe." After those words have been spoken, they will feel electricity shoot through their palms, sealing the Binding.

Remember, the Blood Binding is only for if your Mate is a Skin-Changer as well. If the Male Skin-Changer's Mate is of a different Race, then he must do the marriage the way her Race is supposed to do it. The same goes for the Female Skin-Changer, she must do the marriage her Mate's Race would do if he is of a different Race. The Blood Binding is not possible for a Skin-Changer and a non Skin-Changer.

They take their hands from one another and then kiss each other. The families clap and then they all shift and go hunting. The couple are supposed to go off hunting on their own, that is their first hint as husband and wife. What they kill will determine how well they will eat when they are together and have kids.

After this is completed, the final part of the final step will take place. Beorn has informed me that it is the most important than the rest.
