Chapter 3: Sleepy?

Reader's POV

"Y/n, help me buy some groceries!!!" I heard Tea scream loudly from down the street I was walking from.

I spun on my heels and eyed her with confusion. "Tea, wouldn't you know what you'd want to buy?" There were so many more things I had to do, but if it was for Tea, I wouldn't really mind.

"You are like, the greatest shopper ever!" She argued. "So, I need your opinion!"

I sweatdropped. "O-kay... If you say so..." Without another word, my brunette friend tugged me towards the other way with a rather determined look on her face.

"So, are you holding the basket, or am I?" I asked, staring at the red basket in my hands.

Tea shook her head and politely took the basket from my hands. "Now, that'd be bad manners! I'm asking you to help me pick things, of course..."

I smiled and walked with her down the cereal aisle first. "So, do you need multiple things or just one thing?"

"I wouldn't be holding the basket if I wanted one thing!" Tea replied eagerly.

I looked over every box of cereal on the shelves beside me while I heard the rustle of Tea picking out boxes on her side. "Ooh, Fruity Pebbles!" She cooed.

While I wasn't looking, something hard and metal bumped into my abdomen. "Ow! Dammit!" I looked at the person steering the cart and saw a young man with purple star-shaped hair with yellow strands in front of his face. Asleep.

I widened my eyes in surprise, my anger forgotten. "Uh... Sir...?"

The man didn't reply, and instead continued to sleep on the shopping cart.

"Uh, wake up!" Tea tapped his shoulder. But he still didn't wake up. "Is he dead?"

"No!" I retorted. Suddenly, the man's eyes opened, revealing glistening purple irises.

"I'm up!!!" He yelled, slapping his own cheeks. His eyes became a piercing violet, and there were bags under his eyes, proving that he hadn't slept in a while.

I blinked at him, concerned. "Are you okay, sir?"

"What...? Oh, yes... I'm fine." He rubbed his eyes with his wrists and yawned lightly.

Tea frowned at him. "Not really. You look as if you haven't slept in weeks..."

"N-nooo... I'm great!" He argued, putting on a fake smile.

Tea and I scrutinized this person with gravity-defying hair and violet eyes. Then suddenly, Tea offered "Come to my house. You need rest. Badly."

I nodded in agreement. "What's your name?"

"Yami Mutou." He rubbed his eyes once more. I glanced inside his cart and wasn't surprised to find lots of coffee in there.

The three of us walked inside of Tea's house. The whole walk there, Yami was stumbling so Tea and I took turns in keeping him standing.

Yami looked around Tea's house and smiled slowly. "This is a great home. Thank you."

Tea smiled back. "Well, thank you!" She pointed over to the sofa. "You can take a rest over there. Use the pillows if you like."

Yami frowned, and I could tell that he was uncomfortable. Who wouldn't be?

"I'd rather just sit down first..." He sighed and plopped into the couch.

Tea suddenly turned to me and murmured, "I'm gettin some chamomile to knock him out faster."

As Tea ran off, I sat next to Yami and looked at him, hoping that he would fall asleep.

"So..." I started, trying to break the ice. "Is Yugi your last name?"

"No. It's middle. I always use it instead of my last name. My name is Yami Yugi Mutou."

"My name is Y/n L/n. My friend is Tea Gardener." I introduced with a smile.

Yami smiled back, but didn't say anything more.

"So... Why are you an insomniac?" I questioned.

"Studying. All I really do is study at home and I forget to sleep..." He frowned slightly, hopefully regretting his mistakes.

"Well, go to sleep now! You need your rest..." I coaxed.

"You didn't really have to do this..." He sighed.

I smiled sweetly at him reassuringly and he blushed slightly in response. I picked up the remote and turned on Tea's TV.

I opened my eyes and found that I was laying down. Huh... I must've fallen asleep while I was watching that show... Did Yami fall asleep too?

I yawned and sat up, not immediately realizing what I was laying upon. I blinked, looked down and gasped deeply.

(Play music)

I was laying on Yami who was (thankfully) knocked out. "Holy-" I cute myself off when I heard a slight giggle coming from beside the couch.

"TEA!!!" I screamed.

Tea's blue eyes were filled with mischief. A camera was in her hand. "Looks like you found your new pillow, y/n..."

I blushed fiercely and jumped off the couch. "Shut the hell up!! I do not!"

Tea began laughing manically and held the camera to her chest. "This picture is golden!!!"

"How dare you take a picture?!?!" I screamed, trying to snatch it away.

"Shh!! You don't wanna wake him up, do you?" He teased.

"Just give me the camera!!!" I ignored her.

Suddenly, "... Wh-what's going on...?"

"Oh nothing, Yami..." I waved my hands in front of my chest.

He was starting to look a little better. "Okay then... Keep it down please..."

"Gotcha!" Tea and I replied. When Yami was knocked out again, I whispered to Tea, "Now listen. Gimme the camera, and I won't tear you in half."

"Just look at the picture, okay?" She held it out to me.

I looked at the picture an my eyes softened just a bit. Yami and I were cuddled together, my head resting on his shoulder.

"See? Isn't it just a little cute?" She asked.

I hesitated, not knowing what to say. Then after a while, I blushed and looked away.

"I guess it is... Just a bit cute. Just a bit."
