Chapter 15: Parties Aren't For Good Girls

Reader's POV

The school was buzzing. Not the normal kind of buzzing either. When the normal buzzing occurred, one or two grades would speak about it, rarely three, and then in two months, it'd be out of everyone's memory. But everyone was in on this one. Not that I actually knew what it was.

The boys were talking about it less than the girls. As I walked by the lockers they frequented, I heard giggles and whispers from them, and all of them were about this party. It used to be about the essays coming up for English.

I don't know their grades, though.

Even Alexis was talking about it, in her negative way. She even switched to Pompous briefly. "Such insolence coming from our youth! Even one is as myself would not indulge in a dirty ball such as that!" Then she switched back. "I mean, seriously, a party?"

Tea ripped off the meat from her brisket sandwich, eyeing the blonde critically. "Have you ever even been to one of these kinds of parties before, Lex?"

"Of course I haven't! They're always filled with adultery and underage drinking!" She retorted, stabbing her chicken teriyaki with chopsticks.

I snorted in amusement and took a spoonful of my lunch. "I bet the newspaper club will be all over that."

Akiza widened her eyes at my hypothesis and bumped up in her seat. "Oh! Oh! Oh! I heard about that! The president, Sherry LeBlanc is going to check it out!" Yusei, who was sitting next to her, raised his eyebrows in intrigue. "Wow, even Sherry's going..."

"Alright, let me just ask," said Jaden. "who here is going to that party?" Silence followed his question, and soon, hands from Yami, Yusei, Akiza and Tea shot up into the air. I heard Alexis almost choke on her soda. "Are you four insane?! You have a Living Environment test in the morning and afternoon!"

Akiza shrugged. "Only you and Y/n have that test in the morning. And besides, it's not like any of us are going to get drunk at that party. I honestly just want to see how many people are going." The blonde slammed her fist down on the table, shaking everyone's food. "You say that now, but soon, I'll have to be carrying you home in an Uber!"

Tea sweatdropped. "You're not even going..."

I watched the argument between Tea and Alexis unfold. While I did, I noticed that I was chewing my food slowly and longer than I usually did. I looked at my clock. My next period was going to be starting soon, and other high schoolers were already moving back into the school building. I began to chew faster and packed up my things. "It's time for our next classes." I had English, and I really wish I didn't have to hear Miss- I mean Mr. Crowler's voice.

8:00 P.M. I was outside the house of Seto Kaiba, which was surprisingly huge! The windows were large and clear, with the lights frequently changing from red to blue, to yellow, to green, to purple and then back to red. Sillhouettes were dancing, and the base of the music resonated thoughout the neighborhood.

Speaking of, I wouldn't be surprised if someone called the police. That's always how this usually ends, anyhow.

Alexis stood next to me, her lips pressed together tight, and her eyes sharp with anger. "I can't believe this. I should just call the police and make this whole palace of stupid collapse! I mean, it's, like, totally loud, O.M.G. Like, we should take an anger selfie when we call the police. I am totally posting this on Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter..." And the list went on.

Still, it looked like a chaotic party. Red cups and toilet paper were already on the grass around. I even saw a pair of briefs under one window. I gulped at the thought of Tea or Akiza at something like this. However... "We shouldn't call the police. I'm sure people can already] see us. Maybe we could just leave...?"

Alexis immediately turned me down. "No, we have to investigate. I can't back down now."

"Next thing I know, I'll be dragging you home-" I started.

Alexis squealed, "No!! C'mon, Y/n, you know me better than that!"

Honestly, I don't know if Pompous wouldn't be interested in a party like this. Another red cup fell from one of the second floor windows. My legs were too scared to move then.

Alexis, howeve, took in a deep breath through her nose and marched to the front door. She raised her fist and banged on it. Five breath-holding seconds later, the door opened, and a seemingly drunk Seto Kaiba came stumbling out.

"Ah... You two, bishes, whuh, what do-do you want...?" He slurred. Alexis stepped backwards in disgust, keeping clear of Seto's presence. I stepped up. "Uhhh, Kaiba? I know it may be hard to respond, but... Have you seen Akiza?"

Alexis nodded, as if snapping out of a trance. "Y-yeah! Where is she? I know she's in here!"

Kaiba placed his hands on his knees and snorted. "Don't... I... They ain't in here." He insisted drunkenly, shaking his head. My blonde friend sighed frustratedly and pushed him to the side. "Whatever. He's too drunk to remember. C'mon, Y/n, we're getting to the bottom of this."

I winced as she disappeared into the house. "Alexis!!!" I yelled louder than intended and ran after her. However, as soon as I stepped in, I lost track of her. Dozens of kids from Jenovia Academy were dancing to the blaring music. I felt the base in my chest and the smell of stale alcohol infiltrated my nostrils. Two boys were standing on a beautiful couch, waving ladies' underwear. So many things were on the carpeted floor.

"Alexis!!!" My shouts were meaningless in front of the music. However, the party people in front of me glared at me for my volume. I didn't pay any attention to them and pushed my way through the crowd. The people thinned out in the kitchen. However, it was like some sort of cabaret club where the owner allows sexual behavior.

Akiza stood by the stove, holding a red cup. She didn't appear drunk. Her amber eyes flitted towards me. "Y/n?!" She exclaimed.

I smiled in relief and shuffled over to her. She continued to eye me, surprised. "What are you doing here? Thought you didn't like these kinds of parties."

"I came to get you, dummy." I retorted. The music suddenly stopped for a brief moment, and my mouth took the time to pour out a crap-load of words. "YouseenAlexisandTeaandJadenandYusei?" Then the music started up once again, louder than before.

Apparently, all she heard was Yusei. "Yusei? He was here before me... I lost track of him about an hour ago..." She looked down at her cup, which was actually Coke.

"Anyway," I shouted, "we have to get out of here!" She blinked and tilted her head. "What? Why? No one's hurt."

"We don't know that, and that's the problem!!" I yelled. "I lost Alexis coming in here! I'm kind of scared...!"

Akiza put down her red cup and held me to her chest. "Don't worry. We'll find them right now."
