"There is no way I am letting you win this way, Jamie."

Rachie looks from Justin to me, her eyes playful, before hitting him on the shoulder. "Come on Justin, that trade of two hays for three sheep is completely fair.", she pleads for me. She looks so happy with him, I can't help but grin at them.

"I am so sorry Jamie, I am out of hay", Sarah says. I can tell by her smile that she most likely have one or two left, but I don't challenge her on it. I lean closer to her, and she hides her hand further away from me.

"I give up!" I finally yield. Sarah rolls the dice, and lands the number she apparently needed to win the game. She makes a cute little exclamation to celebrate before finishing up.

"Well, that was fun!", Rachie says. "I can't believe I lost so badly to you all; I never saw any of it coming!"

I smile at the irony of her being bad at board games, knowing she played all the moves that allowed me to get the perfect girlfriend and for herself to get the guy of her dreams through nothing but a handwritten list poorly hidden under her pillow. She did play this summer well, although my pride will never let me admit it out loud.

Mom knocks on the door to bring us some snacks. She smiles at my girlfriend, eyes Justin suspiciously, and leaves the door open on her way out. I squeeze Sarah's hand, still not believing this is a life I am allowed to be having in this house.

We chat until the sun begins to set. Rachie then fishes a long sheet out of her pocket, her eyes all lit up. I know she is about to give us the list of things she wants us all to do for the upcoming summer, and, for once, I honestly can't wait to hear what she has planned for me.
