Loud clicks fill the room and I look around. Why did the power go out? The clicks get louder and closer and my heart pounds. What's happening?
I feel a gust of wind and then the lights flicker for a second. Maybe the air conditioning trying to come back on? Something brushes against my neck and I scream, running from the house. Something's following me, I can feel it. I can almost feel their breath on my neck.
"Boo," I run into a chest. I look up and see the silhouette of a person. I can't really see anything else due to how dark it is. The wind picks up a little and the man just looks at me. I think. I hear thunder somewhere further off. And then a flash of lightening lights the sky, illuminating the mans face.
His veins are protruding from under his eyes and his eyes are blood red. His teeth poke out over his lips and he's smirking.
"Oh my god," I back away slowly. What the hell is that? His hands grab my arms and I gasp. My eyes widen and I scream as I feel hi bite into my neck. God this hurts! Please, let me go. I'm begging you, please.
Muffled cries escape my lips as he puts his hand over my mouth.
"Please, just let me go," I beg when he pulls his head away from my neck, wiping his mouth.
"Do you really want me to let you go," his voice is like silk, relaxing me. Making me forget why I'm begging to be let go. I don't answer and he smirks. Suddenly I'm falling to the ground. I grab onto the closest thing to me and try to stop myself from hitting the floor.
"I thought you wanted me to let go," he chuckles darkly.
"Don't hurt me," I mumble. Something hits the back of my head and I black out.
"Now, now Stefan. That's not the way to talk to me. I mean, after all, I could just rip her throat out." He runs a finger down my face.
"Now bring me what I want, or Sarah here will pick up on some cliff diving."
He kneels in front of me and whispers in my ear, "you know it's not polite to eavesdrop?" My heart picks up, busted.
"You know it's not polite to kidnap someone," I remark.
"You know, it's kind of cute that you think you can talk to me like that, Princess," his breath ghosts across my face. "Someday that mouth of yours is going to get you into trouble." I swing my fist upward and feel it connect with his face. As he pauses I kick him in the gut.
"You probably shouldn't have done that," he smirks evilly. He grabs a handful of my hair and jerks me back as I try to get free.
"What do you want with me," I demand as he turns me around forcing me to look at him.
"It's nothing personal, babe." He winks. I scoff, disgustedly.
"Where is she," a man with brown eyes and hair demands at the door.
"She's right here. But, fair warning. The house isn't mine. It's a humans. So I guess little old you can't get in," he chuckles as I struggle to get away from him. The man just stares at me as if he knows me.
"Let her go, Kai," the man demands.
"Ah, ah, ah. Do you have it," what is he talking about? What it?
"Of course I do. Now hand her over," the man pulls out an old looking handheld machine. What is that?
"Now why would I hand over little miss Sarah Salvatore?" Salvatore? That's not my name. The mans eyes widen and he shakes his head at Kai.
"Don't," he looks between me and Kai. Kai's breaths are hitting the back of my head, making me nauseous at our proximity.
"Shouldn't we tell her about her uncles? About the great Salvatore name? Huh Stefan?" He taunts.
"Let her go, Kai," Stefan begs.
"You see, Sarah. This is your uncle Stefan. It's a bit complicated but basically he's a vampire, he came back to Mystic Falls. His evil brother followed and one day Damon, your other uncle, slips up and takes a bite out of your mommy. Her body was still warm when she arrived at the morgue and you were delivered. But Stefan couldn't just leave you to an orphanage. No, he made sure a great family adopted you. Raised you far, far away from Mystic Falls, but somehow you ended up back here anyway," Stefan looks at the floor, ashamed. Is it true? Oh my god.
I elbow Kai in the gut and stomp his foot. It only makes his grip on me tighten and something in my head pounds.
"What are you doing," I scream, bringing my hands to my head. Why does it hurt? Why won't Stefan help me?
"Stop. Please just let her go, Kai." Stefan puts his hands up. Why can't he come through the door? Why won't he help me?
The pain only gets worse as Kai chuckles.
"Now why would I let her go when she's been such a naughty girl," his lips brush against my ear and I feel absolutely disgusted. Stefan's eyes widen as I feel Kai's teeth rip into my neck again. Screams fill the air and soon enough I realize they're mine. I weaken as he takes my blood. My eyes get heavy and hard to keep open and Stefan keeps begging for Kai to let me go. His teeth are ripped from my throat and he falls backwards. I move toward Stefan but Kai's arm is wrapped around my neck.
"I can still do this," there's something protruding from his stomach. A piece of wood.
"Great job stupid. You missed," a black haired man hits the man holding the crossbow across the back of his head.
"So I see you brought Damon and the little hunter then," something makes a gross sucking sound and then the stake hits the floor. Kai's grip on my neck only tightens and I can't breathe.
"Let her go, Kai. We have the ascendant," the black haired man says.
"I don't think you deserve to get her back," he sticks his hand out and they clutch their heads groaning. The ascendant flies through the air toward Kai's hand. Then something rips across my throat and I'm thrown to the ground. "It's nothing personal princess," he steps over me and leaves as my blood pools on the floor.
