As they went down the icy back roads, the car slipped on ice, and Tony couldn't stop as the car started sliding around the road. Kat screamed slightly as the car flew off of the road, through the side railing, and landed between a few trees on a steep slope. The two trees were holding the car from sliding any more.

After a moment to process what had just happened, Tony turned around to Kat. "Are you okay?" Kat nodded.

Tony opened his door and got out, as did Bishop. But Kat's door was right against the tree, so she couldn't get it open.

"Tony! I can't get it open! It's stuck on the tree."

"Just climb up and come out my door."

As Kat climbed up to the front seat, the weight in the car shifted balance, and the car began sliding once again. Kat grabbed the wheel and turned it sideways, making the car turn. It hit a branch and stopped.

Tony and Bishop began running to the car. One move and it would slide again. Kat had no idea what to do. She had to try to get out or be stuck in a car for the rest of her life.

She opened the door slowly and as her foot touched the snow, the branch holding the car broke and it began sliding. She turned and saw a cliff coming.

Kat screamed, leaning halfway out of the car now. She slid closer and closer to the edge, and finally reached it. Kat closed her eyes tight.

When there was no surge of her stomach falling, she opened her eyes slowly and saw that the car was teetering, deciding whether to fall over or not. She felt like she was in a movie or something.

Kat took this chance and jumped. Alas, she came short and couldn't get a hold of the snow. Tony was about 20 feet away by now. She slid over the edge and Tony stopped running.

He was shocked at what just happened. Gibbs would kill him. Literally kill him. He was about to turn away, when he head a scratching sound at the edge. He slowly walked closer, being careful where he put his feet so he wouldn't fall over the edge, too.

As he peeked over the edge, his heart raced. Kat was hanging by an old tree root, grunting against the cold.

She looked up at him. "Don't just stand there! I'm losing my grip!"

Tony acted fast. He planted his feet firmly in the snow and began pulling Kat up.

When Kat got close enough, Tony grabbed her hand. She held onto his arm for her life. Tony pulled her up all the way, and Bishop held her steady on the snow.

Everyone was out of breath from the experience. Kat's hands were freezing. She was shaking from both the cold and her terror.

As they walked back up the slope, Kat refused to let go of Tony's warm, strong hand. She felt safe with him. This was the first time she trusted someone not related to her. It was strange, but good.

Bishop walked behind them in case of anyone slipping. The climbed through the tear they had made in the side railing. Tony pulled out his phone and called Gibbs, who didn't answer.

"That's fine. It's not far from here."

They walked to NCIS headquarters and when they got there, they had quite the story to tell.

Gibbs was mad at Tony at first, but after seeing how comfortable Kat felt with him, Gibbs decided not to fire him.

Kat hung around Tony for the rest of the day. Tony just made every situation funny or lightened somehow.

On the way home, the car was full of Stories.

Kat went to bed that night, not having one bad thought in her mind of previous days. Instead, she was happier than ever.
