I love you but…

Chapter 5

SURPRISE! TWO UPLOADS IN ONE DAY! Softball practice ended early and because of that I had more time to finish this chapter and I was excited! So…here it is. (:

My heart thumped loudly in my chest. So loud I was sure he could hear it. In fact, the smirk he wore on his smug face made me all the more positive he could hear it. That fact alone sent chills through my body.

He slammed me into the door and I flinched when his right hand slammed right beside my face. When I looked up at him, he was glaring at me. When I saw that, my attitude came out. Before I got smart with him I grabbed my cell, which was in the hoodie pocket, and went tried to do it without him seeing me. Well…he saw me and he threw my phone across the room.

“If it is broken, I demand repayment.” I said coldly, staring at my phone.

I looked at him and saw he was still glaring at me, except it was more like he was glaring at the hoodie and not me. So, because he was staring at my chest, I slapped him.

“Hoodie or not, you don’t stare at a girl’s chest!” I hissed.

“Just as annoying as before.” He mumbled and I glared now. “Besides, I wasn’t looking at your damn chest!”

“IT DOESN’T MATTER!” I screamed in his ear making him pull one arm up to his ear, releasing me from my prison.

I pushed him and ran up the steps. I took a sharp left and slipped right in front of my bedroom door. I hurriedly got up and ran inside. I slammed the door closed and locked it. I backed away from it, scared out of my mind.

I had no idea how he got in here and I just locked myself in a room on the second floor. Aren’t I smart?! I thought angrily. I turned around and saw Lucky on the bed, alert and angry. I ran over to her and wrapped my arms around her. We were both staring down the door, like our lives depended on it. Which, at the moment, they kind of did.

“So you really live with a tiger?” That unpleasantly familiar voice rang out.

I reluctantly turned towards the window. When I did look, he was there, sitting on the window shill, smiling. My left arm started to burn. It was an irritating burn, but not painful.

“Come on now, do you not remember me?” He asked, his red eyes sending chills up and down my spine.

“If I did then do you think I’d lock myself in my room with my tiger? Do you have any common sense?” I spat at him.

“Such a cruel girl.” He teased and this time, Lucky growled. “Calm her down or she’ll get hurt.”

“What human wins against a tiger?” I asked, my cocky attitude now bubbling over.

“None that I know of, but we always win.” He said and smirked.

I saw two fangs. They aren’t real! I thought and stared at him. Now, the fear set in. What if they were real? What if he hurts Lucky? What did he come here for? Where did I meet him before?

While I was thinking of all those dumb questions, he had grabbed me and pulled me off my bed. My eyes got wide and I started kicking him.

“NO! LET ME GO! I screamed at the top of my lungs.

For some reason, it felt like Déjà vu. It felt like I had screamed this loud and those words before.

“Shut up!” He growled and my heart stopped beating for a second.

I kicked him right in the jaw.

“Ah, shit!” He said and let me go.

I scrambled to my feet and tried to grab the knife in my nightstand, but of course, he had me again. This time though, he pinned my hands above my head and was watching Lucky. She was ready to attack.

“Calm her down, now!” He growled and I flinched.

“L-lucky…sweetie, it’s okay.” I cooed to her. I leaned up, so I was closer to the boy, “We are friends.” I stated.

When she calmed down I cringed into the carpet beneath me. The boy was now staring at me. I turned my head away to avoid his stare. I felt him grab the hoodie and then he suddenly ripped it. My eyes got wide and I snapped my head around.

“What are you doing?” I cried.

“I don’t like that guy’s smell.” He said calmly and kept ripping it.

“I don’t give a fu- wait, smell? Did you just say smell?” I said and looked at him like he was crazy.

“Yeah I did.” He said and ripped the last of it off me. “Why does it matter?”

“Don’t joke with me! This joke has gone on long enough!” I snapped.

He smirked and leaned down real close to me. His face resting on my neck and his breath fanning over my cheek and ear.

“Who’s joking?” He asked then licked my neck.

“What are you doing?!” I screamed and started to thrash around.

“Saving both our lives.” He hissed and bit my neck.

A sharp pain ripped through my whole body. I wanted to scream, but somehow, I held it in. I couldn’t believe this. This had to be another nightmare. I was still asleep at Darius’ house. That’s it! Wrong. Another shot of pain ripped through me, waking me from my delusions. I knew it was real because this much pain couldn’t be imagined.

When he let go, on impulse, I slapped him…again.

He narrowed his eyes at me and I put my hands up defensively.

“You bite me!” I said in my defense.

Dang…did those words make me shudder.

Song of the chapter: Last Breath

I hope you liked it. I kind of liked chapter 4 better than this one….
