Hey guys!

I'm going to strategically place this update right at the start of the story so that it's the first thing people read when they enter it. I will be adding a similar one to all my old stories.

I just want to add a disclaimer, because I get the most hilarious comments on this story even several years after writing it. 😂

So, I want to emphasise that I started writing this story when I was fifteen years old. I am currently twenty-six. It has been a VERY long time since I even touched this story, and yet somehow it is one of my most popular.

Of course, I'm extremely thankful to all the readers, voters and commenters over the years. I never take it for granted. ❤️

To still receive love for this story over a decade after writing it is beyond my comprehension. And for that reason, I will always keep it published rather than hiding it.

But I also want to formally apologise to every single person who has read, is reading, or will read this book—because my goodness, I would write it entirely different now. 😂

First of all, there's the grammar, structure and prose as a whole. It's not my best. It isn't as bad as my other older stories, but it's definitely not the standard I use now. I keep saying I want to rewrite and edit the story, but let's face it—my ADHD will likely never allow me to. I'm way too locked in with my current works. 😭

And then of course, there's the actual plot and pacing. Yes, it's unrealistic. Yes, characters make dramatic or ridiculous decisions in the story. Yes, sometimes the characters seem immature, childish or even babyish in parts. I was a kid with unknown and undiagnosed autism, a strange imagination, and little concept of reality. And twenty-six-year-old me is paying the price through countless comments (correctly) picking apart all the stupid things I wrote. 😂

There's also a lot of potentially sensitive themes and triggering subplots within the story, which I may not have flagged at the time of writing.

These include but are not limited to:

• Suicide/self-harm
• Abuse and bullying
• Violence
• Death and loss
• Trauma and tragedy

These are scattered literally everywhere within the story, but given that there are 60 chapters, I couldn't begin to remember what appears where specifically.

Finally, and most importantly—I have to address this, as it has become the topic of many confused comments throughout the story.

The protagonist's name is Citria, pronounced Sit-ree-ah. Like citrus, but take away the "us" and change it to "ee-ah" instead.

Like I said—the biggest mistake was giving me a Wattpad account, a vendetta against classic names and a ridiculous imagination.

Although, I applaud all the people who have taken a (very incorrect) guess at the pronunciation, or just flat-out changed her name altogether. 😂

Something else I want to address. Yes, the protagonist, if I remember correctly, is blonde and blue-eyed. This isn't because I only like that combination—it's simply because I wrote all my stories as self-inserts as a teenager, and that's my natural hair colour and eye colour.

So please stop being angry with me over that. I beg. I'm more diverse now, I swear. 😭

With all that being said, if you want to read something extremely cringeworthy, go ahead and read the story. But just know, you have been warned. 💀

If you want to get an idea of my current writing style, my most recent work (which is ongoing) is Afterglow. I am immensely proud of that story, and it would mean the world to me if you would read, comment, vote, just anything to support it!

I am an aspiring author, so any engagement boosts my work and lets me know I'm doing something right!

Okay, I'm done now. I promise. 😆

Happy reading, and thank you again for all the support on this story and on all my other works!
